2. this is the most ridiculous and outlandish piece on War Hil I have EVER seen
let her words speak for themselves, fuck the stupid ass video makeovers. She wants eternal war like the neocons...

<snip>

On Monday, Ted Koppel offered a report / commentary on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" which can be found online with this headline: "A Duty to Mislead: Politics and the Iraq War," and this introductory text: "Democrats are telling voters that if they are elected, all U.S. troops will be pulled out of Iraq. But as Sen. Hillary Clinton privately told a senor military adviser, she knows there will be some troops there for decades. It's an example of how in some cases, politics can force dishonesty."

Well, someone is trying to force dishonesty. I'm not sure it's politics.

In the audio report, Koppel points out that in a recent debate Senator Hillary Clinton said that her first priority if elected would be to "bring our troops home." She did not say ALL our troops, Koppel points out, and she does not mean ALL our troops. She told the New York Times three months ago that some forces would have to remain. And Koppel adds that he spoke with someone from the Pentagon who briefs Clinton, and that she had told this person that if she is elected and reelected, she expects to have troops in Iraq at the end of her second term. Koppel notes that that's 10 years away. He adds that he thinks she's "right" and that the other Democratic candidates agree with her. When, oh when, he laments, will we get the truth instead of applause lines.

7. Yep no matter how shrill the voices pitch and the lyrics swing on this vid
and the hysteria of the flipping paper carousel at the end,
I am not impressed.

Remember too well Hillary saying that Iran was on the table.

12. You don't close your options before negotiation.
Or you can't negotiate.

Sorry if common sense is a problem here. She was right to do that.

17. We've seen her behavior before - in fact
Maureen Dowd expressed her annoyance with Hillary earlier this week - she turns her focus from what will result from her actions in terms of substance - to what her actions will do for her image and electability.

Happened with re: to her voting for the IWR and will happen again.

13. Your statement sounds like pure hysteria.
And wildly untruthful.

We have garrisons of troops all over the planet. We will continue to have soldiers in the Middle East because of the mess we made. Me, I'm an OUT NOW, but I'm not dumb enough to believe I'll get what I want.

The "endless war" statement about the woman who raised Chelsea Clinton is simply ridiculous. Her daughter was in Manhattan on 9/11. She got to worry with the rest of us where her people were. She will do what minimizes that risk and sometimes she will be wrong. Which is why we cannot anoint a god, a king, a queen. We have to elect someone we will watch like hawks and criticize loudly.

Your quest for the perfect candidate is going to leave you horribly disappointed. We have a great set of choices. There is NO reason to be shouting this garbage about any of them.

14. Not a perfect candidate......
just one that isn't going to take my vote for granted. I am not a big fan of hilary because she is too much a prisoner of politics and will sell us to the "Kulture of Korupshun" jsut to stay in office. Personally I think that we as voters need to take responsibility for those we voted for and unseat the incumbents and replace them with new faces and new blood who are willing to learn from their predecessors failures and mistakes....those being respond to our will or lose your job. Their job exists to serve us and if the Progressives we voted for won't act in a progressive manner, then we need to get candidates who will. Plain and simple.

9. Peace Mother?????!!!?????
Is that how they spin it these days? She has been trying to get us peace in Iraq and those lazy bastards are not taking advantage of this opportunity we handed them. Now, I understand these quotes: :sarcasm:

"Now, we can argue about the past, or we can answer the question you asked about the National Guard. Our troops did the job they were asked to do. They got rid of Saddam Hussein. They conducted the search for weapons of mass destruction. They gave the Iraqi people a chance for elections and to have a government. It is the Iraqis who have failed to take advantage of that opportunity."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0706/03/se.01.html

If elected president, Sen. Hillary Clinton said, she would likely keep some U.S. forces in Iraq in a supporting role after 2009 because America has "a remaining military as well as a political mission" that requires a presence there.

However, in an interview with The New York Times published Thursday, Clinton said the American troops would not play a role in trying to curb sectarian violence.

Rather, they would be positioned north of Baghdad to combat terrorists, support the Kurds, counter any Iranian moves into Iraq and provide logistical, air and training support to the Iraqi government "if the Iraqis ever get their act together."

I do not like having to post stuff like this. I just don't know any other way to inform people that this crap that Hillary is anything other than a warhawk is just that. Crap.

Please, try to sell her other redeeming qualities. I know there are some. But don't push this woman off as being some "Peace Mother". It's an insult to those mothers and activists across the country who have been working to bring the soldiers home.

Give us a freakin break.

18. hillary
At this point in the game everybody has to do what they have to do!! George Bush suckered the mass majority of the American people and politicians into fulfilling his ego trip..Bush twisted things up so well that if one didn't vote for the war one would have been perceived as soft on terrorism. When we all knew Saddam was not that type of threat. So George wasn't so stupid after all and still has Democrats fighting on who did and who didn't support the war..America needs a huge shift and a new face with mother's love on it,,,plus a mother can be the fiercest warrior if you mess with her young!!And for those leaning to the right she did stand with her husband through thick and thin as every GOD fearing woman should do!!!

How insulting and pathetic...even more so when one notices that even the supporters can't come up with anything remarkable other than video effects and old pictures.

15. Hypocritical jackals!
All the "I don't like Hillary because she's just another War Hawk" crap is hypocritical if you support any other Dem candidate save for Bill Richardson or Dennis Kucinich - the only 2 candidates that are actually saying what you REALLY want to hear and possibly have the stones to follow through. I'm not here to rah-rah one candidate over another. I'm here to point out the obvious hypocrisy. There is no "perfect candidate" except for maybe the ones in each of your heads. Obama's no less DLC than Clinton. And I like Obama... a lot. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Everyone who says that Hillary Clinton will be another neo-con is full of it. It's pretty fashionable to hate her. I don't care who the Democratic nominee is, that's who I'm voting for. I do have my preference but "Big Al" hasn't announced yet.
