BILL MAHER REAL TIME MAY 11TH 2007::

In which Bill immediately asks Frank Luntz what the sudden use of the prefix "DR." is all about; Dr. Luntz then tells Arianna Huffington that she is angry, Bill tells comedian Paula Poundstone that he is still trying to get over the clown suit that she is wearing and Luntz convinces everyone that he is a stark raving lunatic.

1. luntz is right
and I believe the reason why we dems do not seem to articulate our message is that we do not think in bumper sticker slogans. We like the details and their interconnectedness which takes time to think about. making us look like a heard of kittens. and the simple robotic compliance of repugs makes them look organized and strong.

2. Luntz is a Liar
He saw terms like the "clean air act" and perverted them to pass Republican legislation. What he saw and what he sees is that congress passed a bill called "the clean air act", yet when you go outside, and especially in LA, the air is not all that much cleaner. Although he deliberately misses the point, which is to say that without the clean air act, Californians and others throughout the country would probably be breathing clumps of coal. but I disgress. So what he saw was, craft whatever bill you want, to have it do whatever you want, mow down a forest, give massive tax breaks to wealthy people, etc. Just give it a name that makes it "palatible" to the American public, like "the Healthy Forest Act" or "Leave no Child Behind", we have neither, yet the bills became law with public support because the public believed we were achieving healthy forests and not leaving any children behind. Now, however, the public has soured on this crap because the forests are no healthier, high school drop-outs are at an all time high, the budget is not balanced and Frank Luntz is a liar and full of shit.

3. I agree
the ugliness that he applies to his ability to frame is scary but it does not negate the fact that if you ask a repug what they stand for you will get an answer of 5 bullet points whether they are lying or not. & most of the time dems will give the dissertation version of the answer. leaving most sheeples bored and not knowing that they agree with the dems so we lose elections.
