MSNBC Countdown w/ KEITH OLBERMANN - 5 April 2010: Rep. Grayson and Keith discuss Dr. Cassell, the Florida doctor who put up the sign telling patients who support Obama to seek care elsewhere. Cassell lies on Fox about Hospice.

GRAYSON: "Think about it. He says that he's concerned that the Obama healthcare plan is going to end up denying care to his patients, so HE'S going to deny care to his patients. What's the sense of that."

Grayson says Cassell is in clear violation of the AMA Code of Ethics, and "more fundamentally, it's cruel. It's just cruel. It's inhuman to treat another person like that."

Not that that is something honorable to strive for, but in the minds of the nut jobs? Could be seen as a plus.

You don't have to be smart to go to medical school; just ask any chemistry or biology TA about their pre-med students. Some are good students, but then again, some are malpractice waiting to happen.

His remark about hospice cuts shot his credibility out of the water. He is not to be believed on anything else pertaining to the HCR legislation because his brain has obviously been contaminated by the RW propaganda that he has taken as fact. You could tell by listening to Cassell's stammering and stuttering that he's just trying to recall and regurgitate the propaganda that was fed to him.

I agree with Grayson that a person seeking health care should not have to worry whether his/her services from this doctor or anyone in any other line of service are compromised because of political beliefs.

On Easter several of my in-laws and I were involved with some political discussion. Two of my BILs are the kind of people who spend a lot of time hearing and parroting RW crap. When one of the BILs got on his horse about the 'liberal media,' I went into a rant about how he can listen to RW talk shows all day long while he's at work. So, where can you find that kind of saturation of liberal talk shows? I added that if the media are so liberal, why did they give Bush/Cheney a free pass on all of the lying that led to our invasion of Iraq? If they were liberal, they would have questioned Bush/Cheney right away and proved them as being the pathological liars that they are. That's when my other BIL said we had no idea that Iraq had no WMDs at the time of the invasion. I had known about the lying since at least 2003, thanks to Sy Hersh's investigative reports on Cheney 'stovepiping' the intelligence gathered on Iraq. The BIL claimed that other countries also thought Iraq had WMDs. Yeah, thanks to Colin Powell's lie-filled address to the UN, plus John Major was basically a Bush lapdog and followed him around like the dumb lemming that he is.

that Dr. Cassell's office has FoxNews on all the time in the waiting area. My Dr. just has ABC running during the morning and might even change the channel to Discovery or ESPN (something non-political) during the afternoon. I tried to bring up in casual conversation with a friend (who is not political at all) how wrong it is for a doctor to be political, but was shocked to hear that my friend said that a doctor should be allowed to express his views and turn patients away who think differently.
