Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) delivers a tough opening statement to the executives of the largest coal companies in the United States and agrees with a statement made by another coal CEO, Massey's killer coal baron Don Blankenship. Blankenship said that the efforts by mine safety officials are as "silly as global warming." Inslee replies: "It's actually very true. Mine safety is as silly as global warming -- they're both deadly serious and they're not silly at all."

1. Good for Inslee.
These clowns are stupid and money is their only reality---not the shit they do to destroy the world.

for a long time. Blankenship bought the judges and the legislature in WV. Even Democrats in that state have to tip toe around him because he is a sociopath who has gone so far as to threaten violence to anyone who gets in his way.

He is a rightwinggnut of the worst kind, completely without any human compassion and scorns anyone who does. Eg, he fired all older, experienced workers from the mines, hiring younger, cheaper but inexperienced labor and boasted about it.

WV cannot deal with this guy, he will destroy anyone who tries there. The Federal Government needs to strike now, before the momentum is lost, and he, monster that he is, manages to manipulate the dialogue, as he has in the past, and then just go on with business as usual.

Suing him won't do it, he's used to be sued.

He's a union buster and would not even allow union members to help with the rescue efforts, that's how much he fears the unions. And that is one good reason to get the unions back there. Because he isn't afraid of anything else.

6. The Governor of West Virginia has just ordered inspections of 200 'high priority" mines
This is supposed to happen within the next two weeks. I've posted an article about it in LBN: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x4344083

I don't think I can add anything to what you've said apart from he should have his assets seized, be charged with 29 counts of manslaughter, found guilty and put in prison for the rest of his life.
