I can't help but think most DU'ers, while admiring the hell out of Carlin for the bulk of his life's work, are going to COMPLETELY disagree with him here.

What do you think? Does he sound like a teabagging repuke?

1. It's funny but I didn't agree with him then nor do I agree with him on that now. I disagree
with plenty of people whose work I admire.

2. Carlin, as ever, sounds a lot like Carlin.
He wasn't actually 'kidding' much in his last few decades, you know.
He genuinely despised us as a species.

And he was correct when he said:
"The planet isn't going anywhere: WE are."

3. This is one of his greatest pieces Ever. He doesn't want that future. That's not him.

It's called comedy. He thought that we were all a joke in our own way. He was very pessimistic.

Carlin was not a 'teabagging repuke.'

Jesus.

6. What was he wrong about? 1 fact of life no one gets out alive
Simply put he was right here today gone tomorrow. Death is a part of life and regardless of what anyone says there are no certain things people can do or not do that will change that fact nor prolong how much life one gets. Sure certain groups of people will have higher life expectancies, but as individuals in those groups have shown that even they die young too, just not as many of them. It's all a crap shoot on how long one lives, healthy people get the same diseases as the none healthy, but then there are none healthy people that beat the odds too, its all unknown on what each individual will face between life and death.
