1. My experience is the American border patrol are way too paranoid and defensive

to be able to do their jobs effectively. They treat you as if you are a suspected criminal.
3 terrorists a day? That man was lying.

The Canadian border patrol are much more reasonable and efficient.

6. I have been through the Border check point in NM

fully inside the US just north of Las Cruses (sp)and had dogs sniff my car. Was treated okay but noticed everyone else just got a cursory stop.

10. It's one of the reasons I hate to travel in the U.S.

I've been asked too many times why I don't drive, do I have a criminal record, has my license been taken away......hell. I don't have a license becuse I don't need one. I live in downtown Toronto. I don't drive because I don't need to.
