It is not only possible to power your home with a wind generator, but given the right circumstances you may be able to sell excess power back to the power company. Recently the technology has come down in price to the point that it is viable for a home owner to achieve. At a cost of about $6k you can buy a wind generator capable of powering your house. It is also possible to build your own wind generator for less then $500. I found all this info along with this video at www.windadvantages.org that shows a family in Denmark who run not only their house but also produce enough to power up to 7 other homes. If we all act together we can blow 6% out of the water and tell the power company to pay us instead of us paying them.
