Still, they ARE rife with TnA, even leading into supposedly enlightened pieces on sexism.

I haven't noticed any racially insulting teasers for pieces analyzing bigotry, and I don't see ANY sexually demeaning gratuitous treatment of men.


Ya know, I"d love to join your toast, but I just hate veiled snark -- as you just had to slyly call me unflattering names while praising yourself, rather than just tell me you disagree and why. giving me the "toasty" after scoring off me is about equivalent to kkkristians who insult you then walk away with a "jesus loves you" kiss off.

TYT are not anti-porn, nor is porn anti-women. Cenk is complaining that the Republicans are using dirty tricks to block important legislation.

I wasn't analyzing that particular vid or its contents. I was analyzing the pattern of cover-pics (or whatever you call the still you see for each video), the leering focus on boobs, sex-toy females, etc and PRETENDING to call it news.

I never understand the Liberal prude heads here. Whose side you on anyway?

Who gives a turd how offended you are about normal body parts?

well, actually, I was talking about TYT as a whole and how they are SELLING their show. I wasn't looking into the content; that's not the point of this particular rant.

The title of the clip in the OP is about porn and Repurgs using it to sell their platform, but the still used as a "cover page" for the vid is major TnA. SO, TYT is also using "porn" (exploiting women) to sell their news show. :eyes:

ALSO, and even more to the point in my opinion, is that if you look at TYT's main page at YouTube, you'll see TONS of TnA teaser vids.

SO, TYT, supposedly a NEWS show, is putting a LOT of energy into producing "Big BOOOBS!!" "POLE DANCERS!!" "CENK'S HOTTEST WOMEN" alongside their serious investigation. I find this demeaning to women, insulting to news, and in general, puke-inducing (especially if they think they're on some moral high ground when they expose Replugs using porn as a selling point.) Check the pic used as a still on the SCIENTISTS SEXUAL HARASSMENT story and tell me if you think that's respectful of women and serious about the abuse of workplace sexual harrassment.


Last, I LIKE porn, in the context of PORN! But should a NEWS show use women in the way TYT is? And using Bimbos to sell themselves, what does that mean in relation to the serious analysts and commentators on the show, as guests or regulars, who are women? Do you think they would use CHINK-pics or thick-lipped N**** pics as the still for pieces on racism? Or how about a cover pic of a really stupid looking Mexican guy with a sombrero--you know, the racist equivalent of Bimbonification of women--on a story about Arizona? Would that be appropriate?

These kind of tricks. Just despicable. They have no honor and no fucking integrity. No shame.

This almost earned you another "off the top rope" Photoshop... But not quite. I'm saving those for for your A++ rants.

Next election's TV spot: (cue sinister music) "Ralph Hall introduced a pro-pornography amendment to an education bill- is this what he wants us to teach our kids?"

Rest assured that would be page 1 in the Republicans' playbook if a Democrat tried a stunt like this.
