MSNBC's David Schuster shared some very interesting news with his viewers last night: He said that pro-war GOP Senators who are up for reelection have repeatedly refused to go on MSNBC and have directly turned down multiple invitations to appear on the network and discuss the war....

Schuster, singling out GOP Senators like Norm Coleman and John Sununu, said:

"If you've been watching cable news programs lately, you may have noticed the disappearance of a certain breed of guest: Specifically, Republican Senators who are up for reelection...

"Interview invitations that we provide almost daily to these Senators are now routinely turned down. The answer appears to be Iraq. These lawmakers have voted to keep the war going but when it comes to explaining their votes on programs like this one, well, forget about it...

"They've come out with public statements and press releases, but when it comes down to brass tacks, they have voted to keep the war going indefinitely."

14. Well, only if this type of reporting continues.
First, you've gotta have journalists willing to ask the tough questions and demand answers.

Then, after the politicians start boycotting interviews, you need journalists and a news organization who are going to let the public know which politicians are abdicating their responsibilities.

2. Pathetic, partisan, Bush enablers ...
Do they really think people will forget?

Thanks, again, to David Shuster for telling it like it IS.

3. They do, however, have a couple of aces in the hole.
the corrupt voting system and the compliant dems who have given their votes cover.

4. Of course they are not going on any program that asks real questions that exposes
the obvious, that they treat their constituents with contempt; much easier to go on faux and have softball questions that give them yet another chance to grandstand like the repeat button on your answering machine about far right issues that are meaningless to the functioning of our government.

10. other than David Schuster and Keith Olberman's Countdown what program asks the real questions
expecting to have honest answers? in my program counter, i don't seem to find any other ones, except perhaps for chris matthews' awakening re: the war ... but then he smears himself by asking questions such as, is bush really idiotic? As if desperately trying to find an answer that will save Bush's day. And, by working to give hillary clinton Poppy's promised hell if she were to run for president of the U.S.A.

Damn he's good and asks the hard questions. Did you see his smackdown of the trailor park princess Marsha Marsha Marsha Blackburn? She couldn't even name the most recent victim from her district! Pathetic!
