1. I can't highly enough recommend Jon Krakauer's book "Where men win glory"

It tells both Tillman's life story but also adds in the odd timing of major events in his life and the lead up to 9/11.

BTW_ Tillman was sitting at an airbase in Iraq when the Jessica Lynch "rescue" was happening and wrote in his journal that the whole thing was a PR stunt.
