1. I should post on a correlation there.
Edited on Tue May-10-11 12:37 AM by RandomThoughts
The stories I quote from, many of them were written by people that 'agreed' with system items I don't agree with. However there is other things in the stories they don't always know about.

In the same way the people, allowed to be on the news, like much of the other TV shows, have to have certain ideologies, or are preferred to have those ideologies.

The core idea is forming groups, from that there can be various other ways to think about that, mostly around smaller empathy circles. Why some say take care of your friends and family ignore others, smaller empathy circle, or why some say us and them. Or why some don't like a culture or race.

Mostly it is becuase forming a group that only protects that group has benefits to that group, and gets them things like more coverage on news, since that group is part of much of the people that pick things like who is on TV.

So even though much of the books and stories I talk about have biases, there is good and bad in everything, so having only those ideas to look at, you have to ignore the bad parts and find something good in them.

There is very little doubt that I could write a successful story, or at least add to a plot line, or add humor in some ways to some show. However if I don't agree with 'forming groups' for the gain of the group only, then I would not only not get invited to write for something like tv, they wont even send the beer and travel money that is already due. Side note, I am not looking for a job like that, I am due beer and travel money.

I guess I post this becuase people might think that I have the same ideas of 'groups' that are in some of the levels of some of the stories I comment on. I don't or I would not be posting here. If I had the same views as them, I would be working on their shows.

Although I still have ways to write many things, and I find that concept humorous and would make a good story also, but it would not be televised, or actually it would :)

So the reason the Bush Officials are on TV, is they are part of the same 'us' of the 'us and them' group that picks who goes on tv.

And most don't know the difference between Go'uld and Tokra. Side note, the things I disagree with on many shows may have been a requirement for them to get on TV, and the writers don't agree with them either. So I am not judging writers of shows or books, could be some of the writing is to get by the ideological censors.

58. AN analogy
Edited on Tue May-10-11 11:02 PM by Tigress DEM
Since you used a Stargate analogy, let me show you how I understand it. Rachael Maddow, Randi Rhodes, Ed Schultz, Keith Olberman, Thom Hartman & Michael Moore are examples of Tokra. Yes, they are in the media and have to get advertisers so that is a symbiotic relationship where neither is fully in charge and each does their part with a basic mutual goal that is honest and impassioned with their understanding of the situation and the Go'uld. There is some need for self preservation, but beyond that these are people who want all of us to survive and thrive, not just the top 5%.

The main networks are like Gould worlds where the Gould ARE the law and the people who would oppose them are silenced - no if's and's but's or maybe's. Everyone in the ranks had better "worship" the ground the leaders walk upon and mouth the party line and force the population to be submissive. It isn't about choice, because they don't trust that the population having free choice will get them what they want.

THEY COULD BE US, BUT THEY DON'T SEE US AS WORTHY OF ANYTHING BUT SUBSERVIENCE. There was a time when the media had some standards and told both sides, "Duke it out and we'll watch and report so the people can decide." But the top 5% is buying everything they can that will make them the absolute rulers of the known universe.

Capice?

Tig

YOU SAID:

As long as Democrats keep feeding the right-wing propaganda machine we call TV, this will go on.

When their viewership drops, they will stop the machine.

5. Good question. When this has been a great week
for our Democratic President, why are the major networks hauling out team Bush to fill the Sunday morning air waves? Past studies have been done showing there a trend toward having more Republicans/conservatives on the Sunday morning talk shows than Democrats/liberals. When Bush was president, the excuse was that the Republicans controlled the WH, and therefore the agenda. What is the excuse now? I can only conclude that it's a result of corporate controlled media that supports Republicans.

When a democrat is on, he or she talks more of reason of the obvious rather than twist of reality. Republicans try to make fools not only of the media but the people that watch the media. We have as the audience some of the most weak minded humans on earth and the rethugs know it.

the cable companies are coming after the internet with broadband caps because TV is dead and they know it better than anyone else.

the internet is simply a better way to deliver news, entertainment and social media. I look for cable TV to get far worse as the money goes down.

9. Why? Let me count the ways.
1. Sedentary Roopublicon make up the majority of the audience for Sunday morning.

2. Brute force, as advocated by the Beltway Botox Brigade, must be promoted as the reason Obama got Bin Laden. The meme...Waterboarding & Torture=Real Americans, Intelligence & Analytical Thinking=Elitist Un-Americans.

3. Roopublicon throw better parties, and they all want an invite.

4. It is easier to talk to someone you agree with and is going to give you a big tax cut.

and most of DU knows the answer. The problem is that there are MANY (as some have stated here), that don't understand the correlation between the CORPORATE-OWNED, i.e. Republican, mainstream media, and how their rhetoric is conveyed. They DICTATE what they want us to see and hear which is THEIR Republican ideology, with very little rebuttal time from our side. I almost NEVER watch any of the Sunday talk shows anymore. Once you know how the game is played, why waste that precious time?

My only hope is that the majority of the American people will start paying attention, connect the dots, and finally come to realize that there's a Republican movement going on in this country and abroad that will drastically change this country socially and economically for the worse now and in the years to come.

...feels obligated to help defend the war it sold, black sights, assassination squads, enhanced interrogation, torture, rape, extraordinary rendition, outsourcing torture, murder, Guantanamo, illegal arrests, ignoring habeas corpus, military tribunals, mercenary armies, privatizing war for profit the list goes on and on.

And why? These tools are required to maintain authoritarian control by an unpopular and repressive government. You don't think people are going to remain docile about being used like slaves forever do you?

Edited on Tue May-10-11 12:34 PM by shcrane71
As an observing outsider, one may jump to a conclusion that bin Laden couldn't be killed during W Bush's watch because the bin Ladens are close family and business friends. When Obama gets Osama, it's probably a good idea to bring out W's administration to show that they actually *do* approve of finding bin Laden.

Next question: Why didn't Obama's Secretaries of State, Defense, HHS, hell Agriculture *insist* on being on the Sunday shows? Do you really think that Meet the Press is going to tell Hillary, "Nope, not this week, we got Michael Chertoff already booked."
