1. Wrong, wrong, wrong
Tying the price of oil to "9/11" is just plain dumb. The volatility starts picking up two years earlier, and a better cause and effect argument can be made that it was due to Phil Gramm playing Santa Claus for all the traders and speculators with his commodity deregulation bill.
