1. Well they managed to take out my local college art class.
Jerks, no more bronze sculptures for us.

2. This was a great segment. I was hoping we would have FDR type art programs

by now too.

Arts funding is an efficient deal because just a bit of money really helps a lot of people. A small amount of public funding goes a long way with artists.

And it was amazing that part of the reason the funding was implemented by FDR was to distract people from their suffering while working our way out of the Great Depression.

It was sad to hear those compassionate statements being made by Democrats of FDR's time because our times are so dominated by GOP cruelty as the new normal. Top Two Percent can't be asked to pay more and forgo the next vacation home when we could cut Low Income Heating Assistance Program instead.

That's one of the most painful parts of having to accept that my Democrats didn't roll into office in 2009 as a strong block behind FDR type reforms after the Bush Crash-- we could have been engaged in millions of jobs that would be having a positive result.

Instead, we didn't clearly expose GOP failures and hold them accountable by turning away from deceptive "bipartisan" bargaining with the economy crushers whose sole aim had been to increase the Misery Index so more Democrats would stay home like they did in 2010.

I hope more and more of our Democratic legislators will heed the call to support their base and expand Democratic public programs, now that Republican ugliness has been amped up to continue their concerted campaign to keep that Misery Index high.
