Representative John Kriesel is one of four Republicans who voted their conscience instead of voting their party and opposed a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage in Minnesota. The state already does that by statute.

Powerful speech by an insightful, responsible, and adult Republican.

Sadly right now MN had many immature, hateful, and small minded Republicans controlling the MN Senate and House of Reps. They bypassed the DFL Governor who would have veto'd such a bill but voting to put it on the MN Constitution.

But the solidarity of the DFL and the people will push back.

2. Some day, conservatives will no longer have any power in our country
over the last 60 years, progressive, liberal thought has been slowly changing our country, and the grasp conservatives have held on this country has weakened. Gay marriage will be a reality, some day, and to the gay community, I, as a straight male, applaud your and your fight for personal happiness and civil equality. Keep up the fight!
