5. "What the fuck is going on in Mexico?"
It seems that there are financial interests who, with the assistance of their paid-for puppets "the politicians," now benefit from the way the present situation is configured. Legally speaking. Although our leaders chaff at the "collateral damage" and deplore the carnage, it's still a part of their governance/business model. And so things will most likely remain as they are (as far as they're concerned), until it is no longer profitable for them to do so.

Pablo Escobar used to weigh the money from his drug deals because it was easier than counting it. When you have that kind of money, you become a kind of government by default. But the ones with the biggest army always wins in the end.

- As Pablo would attest, if he could.

4. Just wow..........
What a brilliant woman she is.........and so calm.......
I can't even imagine living like that.......or working in that climate.
Those poor children......how trusting they were of the teacher.
She is my hero of the day!!!

8. brought tears to my eyes, incredible
like the movie "Life is Beautiful" but without the saccharine. Here is a real woman, projecting calm because she needs to.

Her words to the children filled with love, perhaps knowing they could be her last.

13. That is the power of love. International teacher of the year
I think that she should be at least nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Maybe if we sang together more often, we wouldn't fight so much, and the whole world would be safer.

7. that's the result of a govt so small it can be drowned in a bathtub
weak central/federal governments are vulnerable to competing governance including mafias such as in Mexico...

Mafia rule was so strong here in the United States last century, that it even killed presidents

9. This sends chills up my spine
No wonder a lot of Mexicans try to jump the border and risk their lives. I know not just Mexicans but other latin americans as well.
Amazing how calm the teacher sounded through the whole situation
