1. US wanted Zelaya to give asylum to terrorist bomber Luis Posada Carilles.
Pathetic.

3. "Obama is the president of the country but does not control the empire."
And that is just the way it is and has been for some time now.

8. It would be an excellent move on Obama's part to just tell the American People how it really is
Straight out. In plain English inform the American People that the President's office is not what we think it is and hasn't been in sometime. That it's all one big charade (because it is)and we the people need to decide what to do about that, and then do it. Honesty straight up like that would be a refreshing change.

12. It would be wonderful alright.
But not for him....for him would be the lone assasin...and I am serious.

But Carter came as close to telling it as any one dare....when he was asked what was the most surprising thing about being president he said he was surprised by how little power he had.

4. Noam Chomsky calls it "successful defiance" when a sovereign nation defies the global hegemon.
That's why we've tried to overthrow Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and this is why we have an iron boot on the throat of Haiti. We weren't going to let it happen in Honduras. I fear for President Zelaya's life.

5. I do, too.
That's the first thing my mother said to me when I updated her: "I hope they don't kill him."

10. I worry about him also.
He's a courageous man. Otoh, they might opt for smearing him as they have so many others. Making martyrs of people has proven to work against them often, but who is going to sympathize with a 'sex abuser'?

7. Amy Misspoke about the first Coup in Latin America in a Quarter of Century
Venezuela happened in 2002 when the CIA attempted to overthrow Chavez. indeed it worked for a very brief time.

Maybe Amy meant in "Central America".
