13.52 "Did you ever receive payment from a news organisation?" Louise Fulbrook asks. Andy Hayman snorts like a racehorse, a sort of "humphing" noise, and says "Come on! Come on! That's a real attack on my integrity! I'm not going to let you get away with that!"
Vaz has to calm the situation, pointing out that Fulbrook has asked all the witnesses the same question. "Your answer is an unequivocal no", he says. Then he closes it up with "Normally I summarise the evidence provided, but in this case I think your evidence speaks for itself". Apparently ignoring or not noticing the dig, Hayman says "Thank you."

13.32 You made a judgement to accept hospitality from people you were investigating, the committee says to Hayman. "Yes. Not having dinner (with NI chiefs) would have been more suspicious than having it", says Hayman. The committee laughs. "We're astonished at how you're answering these questions", says Vaz, when Hayman asks why they're laughing.

13.27 "More Clouseau than Columbo", sneers Vaz at Hayman as Hayman admits to having dinners with people who were investigated. Hayman says he "has no idea" if he was hacked, despite being on the list of victims.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/phone-hacking/8617707/News-of-the-World-phone-hacking-live.htmlHayman seems oblivious to what most people regard as normal ethics. His bewilderment is certainly Clouseau-like. It's not often MPs laugh at their witnesses, and even more rare when the witness can't even see why he's a laughing stock.
