Democracy NOW! DN! - A new exposé in The Nation magazine reveals that trailers the Clinton Foundation donated to post- earthquake Haiti to use as temporary classrooms, and to double as hurricane shelters, are plagued by mold, shoddy construction. In at least one case, an air quality test revealed worrying levels of formaldehyde. http://www.thenation.com/article/161908/shelters-clinton-built The trailers were built by the same company that is being sued in the United States for providing formaldehyde-laced trailers to displaced residents after Hurricane Katrina. Democracy NOW!, an independent non-profit user funded news media, recognized and broadcast world wide.

4. On this streaming station Democracy Now came after Thom Hartmann, I heard this segment
I was listening on WMNF.org (that's in Tampa, FL) since neither Ustream.tv not FreeSpeech.org sites were streaming T. Hartmann. This Clinton Foundation isn't as great as you may think.

6. The Clintons have been terrible for Haiti.
Although, that isn't fair insofar as US policy has been horrible for Haiti and the Clintons are just the last in a long line of American politicians that have exploited Haiti.

The Clinton Foundation has totally screwed up the earthquake relief effort. Bill Clinton's goal for Haiti seems to be to turn it into Juarez which means the Foundation isn't going to spend much time or energy trying to build decent housing or infrastructure.

And Hillary more or less facilitated a fake election that only 17% of eligible voters participate in, to make sure that the right business friendly won. One morning I was sitting here watching Al Jazeera and they had a clip of lawn signs in Haiti that called Hillary out instead of supporting a candidate. It was sickening.

5. Depends on what is, is
Is there such a thing as a hurricane proof trailer? How about we put Clinton in charge of deregulating Haiti's banking system too!

come across a "trailer" or even top-of-the line "mobile home" that wasn't laced with formaldehyde. The newer they are, the worse the formaldehyde. It takes several years to dissipate. If those trailers were stored in the south without being air conditioned, they would certainly have mold. Snowbirds usually know that they have to take measures to prevent mold over the summer when they are back up north. The mold needs to be cleaned with bleach. There's little you can do about the formaldehyde as long as the manufacturer's of all trailers and mobiles insist on using it. Interesting that Clayton is being sued for formaldehyde when every MH manufacturer in the country puts out homes that make your knows and eyes sting. I was recently in a brand new top-of-the line Jacobsen and it made my eyes and nose sting. I don't know if I would call them substandard just because of these two problems. Everone in the US who lives in a MH deals with the formaldehyde. Mold control in the south is a neverending battle against nature.

Many people in the US live in trailers because they are cheap, myself included. The one I live in is over 40 years old. The formaldehyde is long gone. If I don't use the air conditioning and stay vigilent it would get moldy, if I don't use a/c it gets very hot inside (as I found out when we were without power for more than 2 weeks after two different hurricanes), I had a new roof installed 6 years ago because it was leaking, this year the new roof started leaking (probably got loosened because of the 3 hurricanes it survived). I really don't know how many hurricanes this place has survived in 40 years - though I certainly wouldn't use it as a shelter. That video describes hundreds of thousands of mobile homes in the US and they can really get nasty in a hurry if they are not constantly maintained.

9. My air conditioner's outside unit broke down in 1990. It took the air conditioner people two
weeks to get a new unit hooked up. During that time, we used ceiling fans, box fans, and open doors and windows to keep air flowing around our house.

Despite those efforts, by the time the air conditioning was back up and running, leather belts and shoes in the house were coated with mold.

In the south, with the heat and humidity, mold is a fact of life. Chlorine bleach is a household staple. Even when the air conditioning is working perfectly.
