I've posted nearly 500 videos over the past few years -- all of which I've written, and because I mostly deal with political satire I have been repeatedly brutalized by the Right, the Left, and the Center to the point where my skin is thick as George W. Bush's head. I have no problem with people who don't find me funny. I have tons of friends in the Chicago Imrpov Community who rarely make me laugh -- but that doesn't mean I still don't like them and respect them for putting themselves out on the line and trying to get better, one failure or success at a time. I'm a tough audience and have a lot of respect for tough audiences -- but not stupid ones.

If you say, "I sure find Jane Doe attractive", it is certainly less crude than: "I would like to fuck Jane Doe."
The former is not even crude at all. Sometimes comedians, like Fey, use crudities to enhance comedy, and can get away with it, because that is a platform they get away with. Is that what you are doing here? Do you, in your position, have such a platform? No. You don't, because you are making serious commentary. You are not cracking wise.

Fey used. Anyway, it is still offensive, and its usage should have been explained. Seabeyond has a valid point. Some terms are just too offensive to be splattered around. "MILF" is one of those. It is just as bad, in my opinion, (as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, left-wing liberal extremist, etc.), as the "n" word. Its usage cheapens and degrades us, as a society. Think about it.

I did this film three years ago just after Palin was nominated by McCain. I cringe when I watch it because I've learned so much about film-making since then. But my use of the term MILF in the video was completely within bounds. The point of the video was that all of the News Media were running to Wikipedia to find out who Palin was, and were ignoring the fact that as an "open source" it couldn't be trusted as a reliable reference about Palin. But when the news media gets caught with their pants down . . .

The Far Left is easy to pick out. It's their way or the highway. They don't listen to other people's arguments. They are the Left's version of Neo-Cons. And they have no sense of humor.

But I do believe you're right about some on our side being this way. Whether it's South Park, Daniel Tosh, Bill Maher, or others, I enjoy lots of humor that includes jokes or terms that would widely be considered "offensive." In some cases, I see humor that's offensive and not much else. Apparently it's supposed to be funny but it doesn't really do it for me. Ultimately, I think when the person is clearly not being serious, or using comedic satire to make a genuine point, there isn't much need to make a big fuss.

That's not to say that I'll always defend people using whatever language they wish. In cases like Kobe Bryant or Desean Jackson using the word "faggot" towards someone in anger, then they should fully expect people to be upset with them and they should apologize. In short, I believe freedom of speech, decency, and humor can all co-exist peacefully.

"A hit dog will holla", and while I think Britethorn videos can be hit or miss they aren't in anyway "mean spirited", to that point that whole MILF thing being some form of sexual oppression is the very core of the left not understanding the joke. Yes, Joke! Richard Pryor used to have a routine about a super hero named "Super N*ger" that would fight not for truth or justice but to save his "stash". The Humor in the joke was two fold. One, what would you fight for if you had the powers of a super hero? In this case selfish ends not noble ones but that is for sure what most of us would do. Second a little darker ( no pun) do African Americans hold the same core values of truth and justice as then White America? At that time as I would argue as now, no. Yet the joke had the dreaded N-word does it make it less honest or funny? MILF is a "humorous" description of an attractive older woman, who other wise would not be in a discussion sexuality due to class or age. Yes the term DILF is also used to a lesser degree but I've never seen a guy get offended by it. Jon Stewart once said that defending comedy is impossible because "Funny" is not universal. The far left and the far right both have that failing in being unable to accept that because they both refuse to see nothing but whatever worldview they have, they then reject what offends them as universally unacceptable. @Seabeyond, it's just not that serious and you make the point for him, lol.

This is the 3rd post on DU I have read that complains about crazy radical liberals. I think some centrists and conservatives are pushing this meme and some liberals ar buying into it.

I have never, ever in my over 50 years of life met any one I would consider a crazy far left loonie. Where is this radical far left? I want to meet them and join them. Is he referring to Senator Bernie Sanders a self professed Democratic Socialist? Is Kucinich a far left radical crazy? I don't think so. I think we really need some of those really crazy liberals to balance out our insane conservative political bent in America.

If the Democratic party took a 90 degree left turn, they would still only be in the center.
