1. wasn't Regan and the thugs part of some deal with regards to the release
of the hostages in Iran and that's why they weren't released before he took office?

4. That's what Patty Reagan said -- and she was there . . .
I think she was rather shocked -- and honest individual she was at that time . . .
she let us know!!!

but . . . anyone who studied it quickly understood what had happened ---\
Ted Koppel pretty much placed George Bush in Paris -- I think it was Paris -- at the "meeting."

2. President Carter was the most honest, sincere and human president this country has ever had....
...at least in my lifetime. Remember, he had the "sweep up" of the post-Vietnam recession to deal with, the Middle East oil crunch (the wake up call to the industrial world), and then the political mess in Iran.

His claim is very true...those hostages ALL lived to talk about their episode. Unlike our cowboy jackass that disgraces the office of president today. He has the blood of a million or more innocent and military personnel on his hands.

5. Someday we may be able to investigate, as well, the many "downed" helicopters in the desert -- !!!
Carter had one or two -- or maybe more -- rescue missions going to get the hostages . . .
but each one failed somehow. Hard to believe that many accidents ---
CIA operation . . . I think.

12. Ollie North was in charge of that mission - don't ever forget that...
WHILE he was actively working for ray-gun's election...

pretty much sums up the whole episode...

7. In the long term, history will portray that
And maybe, just maybe he will get his reputation cleared on the hostage crisis. Someday I hope the truth on that whole thing will be told and history will know any Reagan admin. involvement.

8. It blows my mind...
That so many news agencies and pundits paint Carter as a lame duck, and venerate that vampire motherfucker ronald reagan. Carter hits the nail on the head, we need more people like him in politics.I also noticed the sort of passing over of the Shah's human rights records "Not very good", was that what Wolf said? Thousands tortured, imprisoned, executed without charges, total political repression,...Hrmm.. "Not very good" doesn't quite cut it. They also leave out that Iran was a PEACEFUL CONSTITUTIONAL DEMOCRACY, before the CIA went in. Typical american media, leave out the uncomfortable facts.

9. Unfortunately true.......
the media also neglected to explain how angry portions of the US and Britain were when the Shah was overthrown for a theocratic régime.

The theocrats would not have been in power if the US hadn't meddled...which somehow goes along with bombing the hell out of the only secular state in the middle east.

I'm not sure anyone thinks these lovely ideas through.
