34. I can't stand the blonde lady....
But I love how the interviewer interjects that there is no longer ANY speculation in the scientific community about damage my global warming. I love how republicans act all knowledgeable about this like they actually know more than the greatest scientific minds on earth. The arrogance. I'm rather critical of the Nobel comittee, not as much as mz bitch in the clip, but.... Giving Kissinger an award for ending Vietnam,...when all those documents which have been released PROVE he put all the pressure he could muster on the white house to keep it going??? Please. And don't get me started of Friedman's prize... All said and done I'm glad Gore won. To think...this guy could've been president right now as we type. ::sighs::

3. So typical...
Trash the Nobel Committee and distract from the real issue. Health care, global warming... pick a topic and they'll deny and distract.

Jacobis has that RW wild-eyed look too. She must be a real wingnut.

5. That chick is nuts
I love the purposeful ignorance of the truth by the right wing nutcases. If they ran the world during the entire last decade we might not have made it even this far. Nuclear war would have been certain. Global Warming escalation would have been certain. The end of mankind would have been certain. It's only because of Democrats making the right choices over the years that we've survived this long and that's even with the many mistakes we've made along the way.

These people are the vile disease of our population and they will do anything it takes to destroy us all.

Committee in how long?

Wasn't it Kissinger in 1973? Now there's an :eyes: for you...

(edited to add year Kissinger got the prize. And to add that if anything besmirched the reputation of the Nobel Committee, that would have been it.)

8. all I can say is, ' eat shit and die lady'.
I love how the anchor says Gore won the Nobel but jr won the presidency. Also, the real reason repugs are upset is because they know that jr couldn't get awarded ANYTHING let alone a prestigious award like Nobel......and jr doesn't even have a passing association with peace let alone getting recognition for peace.

25. I agree with you, there was such joy in the anchor's face when she recited that fact...
as if the world had forgotten what took place in 2000. I was surprised she didn't agree with everything the botoxed shrew-mole had to say, but I suppose she was trying to play the impartial reporter.:eyes:

Give her to Osama, you know the guy that really attacked us. He'll pull out her tongue for mouthing, pull out all her teeth for biting, and bend her but over for smirking. Sure lady, the (INTERNATIONAL) Nobel committee has a big stake in Gore being president and is just being political.:+ RE:puke:

edit to add:

K&R as required reading on the logic of a repuke.

Every side shot was pollution spewing smoke stacks and traffic congestion ... etc. All while that woman was say saying we don't know if it's man made or not.

And the CNN woman was actually rude at one point ... in my books ... hat tip to CNN!!

28. CNN journalist
The journalist did her job. The republican she interviewed came across as a disfunctional idiot even contradicting herself on several points.

This republican pundit was so out of it now that they can't even string together a coherent 4 minute interview.

18. Frustration starts w/ the anchor saying that Bush defeated Gore in the 2000 election...
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 07:08 PM by krkaufman
... and then CNN/International making the segment about Republicans criticizing Gore, rather than emphasizing why Gore and the IPCC were selected.

Gotta credit the anchor for challenging the talking head a bit, but she hand-feeds the Rethug the "Bush hate" talking point -- rather than crediting Carter and Gore for the work they've done.

(I just pray that this wasn't CNN/I's only coverage of the award, and that they had more productive interviews with people from the reality-based community.)

19. She reminds me of a RW apologist guest on a talk show about global warming
Maybe six years ago. I was in my car and couldn't call in, it was the most ludicrous thing.

This self-smug Republican apologist was the "opposing view" in a discussion on global warming. He was saying that we didn't know for sure that carbon dioxide caused global warming.

In fact, carbon dioxide was helping the environment - it helped prevent global freezing!

If I had a drink in my mouth I would have spewed it all over the dashboard. That was the most tortured logic (or lack of it) that I have ever heard.

Here's some other winners and the lady is right, not many of us can reel off the names of former winners as many of them were hard at work bringing peace to the world while those in the USA were busy thinking of themselves.

31. I was able to monitor some talking heads today
and have to say Alterman, Donna Brazille and even Olberman were all singin' the same tune: Gore won't get into the race. I'd expect it from Wolfie, but KEITH??? Someone even suggested Gore has to be very careful about who he endorses because he blew it so badly with Dean.

CRIMENY! I'm very happy about the outpouring at Boxer's fundraiser and the phenomenally racing petition and the general groundswell rising up from regular folks! Gotta turn off the teevee.

This was a great day for all citizens of the world.

Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 11:30 PM by FREEWILL56
If he does I am certain he would have no trouble at all finding a running mate and that what happened back then was more Dean's own doing than Gore's. What would you suppose Dean would say if Gore said I'm in and I want Dean as my running mate, do you think he'd say f'off? I don't think he would. I don't think that'll happen, but who can say as I never though dumya would get in even once. I don't think he'd pick Hillary as even Gore knows going with Hillary is not having Bill back into the white house, but you never know here too as he might do it for Bill as a favor. Too much to speculate on, but I like the sound of Gore/Kucinich.
