6. Cuaron's *Children of Men*

Finally -- after watching Cuaron's Shock Doctrine film a dozen times -- I watched *Children of Men* last night. Besides getting Naomi's book back on the US bestseller list, watch *Children of Men*, as it images precisely the kinds of societies in which Klein did her research for the book. Every country in the rich West is gonna look like the images in this film in a few short years.

10. US looking to catch up with North Korea

That seems to be their model. Security everywhere, every able bodied person working on security or monuments to the 'Dear Leader', and even the not so able-bodied doing what they can to inform on the able-bodied. Security takes precedence over health (think S-CHIP), over energy (think LIHEAP), even over food production until the country is literally starving to death. "Security!" becomes the excuse for any search, no matter how unreasonable, irrespective of warrants or probable cause. "Security!" is the word to end all arguments, veto all reason, authorize any intrusion, and violate any human right. Security is the hoax that is left when freedom is gone.

11. One correction: The Boeing contract is MILLIONS, not BILLIONS.

There was apparently a "typo" in the contract. Heard this on Randi's show and on Rachel's show on Friday.
