11. The appeal is simple

Its for people (right wingers) who would rather hear what they want to hear then hear the truth. Fox Noise gives them a healthy dose of that instead of straight reporting. Some people, maybe a lot of people would rather agree with everything they hear then have their ideas and/or beliefs challenged in anyway shape or form. It was the next logical step from Rush Limbag to a network who espouses his views, but tries to conceal it. I have more respect for that windbag Rush. At least he's honest in telling his listeners hes a right winger. Fox spends 75% of the time reporting the right wing perspective and the other 25% telling people how balanced and non partisan they are. I would imagine its quite persuasive to the less educated among us.

He said that the lies and twists and distortions are like an echo chamber where other sources pick them up and re-state them and we are bombarded with them and they are in our subconscious when we go to the voting booths. He said that the echo chamber and the lies and distortions aired and re-stated again and again undermines democracy.

That is what is happening on DU. The constant barrage of half/truths against candidates is not part of democracy--it undermines democracy.
