October 26, 2007 - HBO Real Time w/ BILL MAHER

Bill to Andrew Sullivan on Sullivan's admitting that voting for Bush in 2000 was a mistake: "Excuse me. In 1999 I almost got thrown off of ABC for calling him a lying sack of shit. It was not that hard to see, before he got to be president the first time, that he was a moron!"

first, I wish there was more with Clark (I don't get cable), so hope there's another vid, maybe? but, the Sullivan comment about B*sh in 2000... BWAHAHAHA... what a joke to sound upset at Bill and say we should be embracing all those who realize voting for him in 2000 was a mistake, because just like Bill says, "it wasn't that hard to see that he was a moron and above his head in anything besides maybe commissioner of baseball!"

well, I disagree with Bill on that, I wouldn't want him as dog catcher... I believe he should a brush clearer, or a stand up comedian...

I'll give Andrew credit, his 2 questions are great, for the GOP candidates. I am still in shock that a gay man would have voted for an idiot sounding GOP candidate for president... was he doing a lil narcotics back then or what?

3. Yeah, Arnold has done a lot of good things.
Idiot. Like what? Dropping the lawsuit against the "rolling blackout" crooks? Waging war against unions? I like the show. Bill's funny as hell and says some brilliant things, but when he says stuff like this, he shows his ignorance.

15. Agreed. Only natural born citizens should ever be elected president of America.
So what if one foreign born proves to be okay...it opens the door for others who may not be okay. Scenarios could change and they could also be covert. With enough money and 'push' by a foreign national posing as all American...I mean this isn't the UN and there are enough Natural Born citizens that the rule does not need to be tampered with.

Sullivan doesn't seem stupid enough to be such a Bush loyalists in 2000 spouting the republican line like a Bush lackey. Sure he's come to his senses now but he wasn't a skeptic before , he was a loyalist to Bush/Cheney.

He makes an excellent point about executive power and also what republicans focus on (gays vs wars of aggression).

Clark is heading for a cabinet position in a Clinton administration.
Too bad since Kucinich will be the nominee. He represents the only real change and wins all the straw polls...if only he had Clinton money...but he still has the votes. Clark would make a good cabinet head in any administration except Obama.

4. Clark will be Billary's VP running mate
I was disappointed in Clark's performance on this Maher show.

K & R, btw.

11. sorry, I don't keep up w/RW lingo and...
I saw the term used somewhere...and I know that Bill will be more than just an isolated advisor to her, which I see as a good thing.

I'm not a winger; I do not frequent any RW sites.

That said, I must state that I don't support Hillary's candidacy. I believe she's a corporatist. However, if she gets the nomination, a 'vote for Clinton' sign will certainly be in my front lawn. I voted for Bill twice.

As Andrew Sullivan and many others have pointed out, Hillary and her camp think she has the nomination locked up and she's now running a general election campaign and going for right-leaning independent votes. It's terrible that she's taking all of us lefties for granted. But it seems I'm living proof that she can. Sigh. :eyes:

I support, in order: Al Gore (but he's not running), Dennis Kucinich, and John Edwards.

I hope I've clarified my position. I again apologize for my naivety.

12. I am always impressed with Clark. If he had even a chance
I would get behind him.
If not VP he has to at least become Secretary of State though I would be happy to see him heading up the intelligence agencies and shake that crime syndicate and murder for hire ring up. Lets face it if a good dem gets elected there are no end of possibilities for Clark, barring "the fix is in" Clinton.

14. Tank, did you watch his defense of Hillary?
I'm puzzled as to how anyone can defend her 'Kyl-Lieberman' vote.

So, you don't think Wes Clark will be her running mate?

6. Actually, I think it would be cool to see a President rail into a lackadaisical Congress
As Maher was doing his version of John McEnroe. :)

10. John Mac could run for president!
The constitution says an U.S. born citizen. If you were born in Mexico, but one of your parents was an U.S. citizen, then you too are a U.S. Citizen and can run for president.
