This video by Paperlilies about Youtube.

Her thoughts remind me of the identity crisis going on at DU here and now. The concerns she raises are about the corrupting influence of corporate support, and the co-option of the Web by the MSM.

The feeling of alienation should be very familiar to liberals and progressives here at DU.

She could easily be talking about the Hilary rather than Oprah, or the DLC or DU rather than Youtube.

Just something to think about.

1. Sorry, YouTube has been on my "Dead to Me" list since about October 2006...

...when they started taking down all the Colbert Report and Daily Show videos.

It's time for her to move on, YouTube was fun for a while, but now there are dozens if "youtube type" sites out there that didn't sell out to Google, yet.

3. You tube is a culture and mainstream media has lost viewers

and now trying to get the You tube fans back to TV

so she has a point

and she has a point that they are categorizing videos and they original people get pushed back while the corporations are put forward
I don't get money for my videos ... thats the corrupter right there
