Although this is valuable information everyone on our forum should be viewing, I'm really posting this to promote LinkTV. Since I discovered this station, I have not needed any other source for news. But more than that, if we can find a way to bring this station out of the cable shadows and into the light of major mainstream media, we would have a much better informed public.

I am beginning to see America as a group of people who are "informed" by the three minutes of Fox Noise that they get when grabbing their cup of coffee every morning and running out the door. Think of what a nation we would be if we had real investigative journalism ON TV. That's what LinkTV is.

But you probably don't even get cable. So I'll continue posting these Youtubes. Maybe it'll catch on. It really hurts to see Amy Goodman pleading for money, more than she spends discussing real issues. And only for the $200k that it takes to keep Mosaic on the air for six months. That's one check from T. Boone Pickens for the 30 second spot on Fox. But where else will you see Amy Goodman, Howard Zinn, Mr. Coyote, or the guy (sorry, forgot his name) who exposed Blackwater, etc...?

4. Yay! I'm glad I posted this.
I think you're going to be shocked at the level of discussion there. Democracy Now. And the documentaries on global warming, the massacre in Afghanistan (which nobody has talked about in our media), Blackwater nastiness, the history of our evil foreign affairs, etc.

And the nightly Middle East news, Mosaic. I know a girl from Iran who watches Mosaic.

Great!

6. How sad.
I had a discussion about media conglomeration with someone last night. Even a staunch Democrat doesn't think we should take our fourth estate into our own hands. It does not represent our interests, nor even the truth. So how can we have an informed citizenship without some kind of forced alteration. I think we need to get this kind of programming on the air on as many stations as possible. I guess a modern Fairness Doctrine could address this. Fox Noise also would be forced to air this kind of programming. Not a big systemic change. Just actual fairness.

I know I don't even need to say any of that. It's just so tiresome to have to wait for Americans to wake up on their own. We're really going backwards.

8. That's great.
Those are entire shows. Brilliant. This will benefit those without cable. We've got to keep Linktv going.

10. That IS good.
They are right on top of the current topics. And I see they're working on broadcasting over television. Because that's what it's going to take.

Man, I'm so discouraged. I probably shouldn't judge the state of American intelligence by the guy who is going to drill my water well. And in general, I sense most people are good, even if not informed. But this country is pathetically under and mal-informed. The discouraging part is that our attention span seems to be about a third of a second. And for these small networks to make their presence big enough to capture that third of a second, they're going to need either huge resources, or big changes at the FCC.

And thanks for that bit of info. It's evidence of a growing movement in television. I wonder if we'll live long enough to see the results. But then politics is all about tomorrow.
