"I'll be brutal"?? How about, I'll be an asswipe (as always)!?

Notice the stunned silence of the others? Only Mika tried to interject and save his ass ... he was just too stupid to shut-up.

1. After being so wrong, so recently ...
you'd think he's have the class to just STFU.

4. He can't shut up.
He is fighting contradictions in his psyche, and that which you don't work out for yourself, you may just act out in public.

I wrote this for another thread, but it was long gone by the time I posted it, but it's just as applicable here I think.

13. Thanks - you can make it a drinking game, too.
Although I don't drink very often, I do a mental rim shot every time Tweety takes flight on one of his Great American Symbols themes.

I heard several hints of it just today as he got all excited that THERE, on his VERY SHOW, they were having that Great American Debate about Women and Tears or was it Triumph Over Racisn or was it That Old American Curse, Racism.

Once you start recognizing what transports him, Tweety is easier to make sense of.

He's still the Political Krazy Kar (h/t Stephanie Miller) but it's not about being in love. It's about what sets off his Archetype responses. :)

14. LOL @ drinking game ...

...just as long as it's sips, not shots. That could be verrrrrrrrrrry dangerous when he's in one of his 'gushing moods'. :silly:

I see you breed and show Golden Retrievers, wonderful dogs. I just began reading a recent Dean Koontz novel that revolves around a woman who rescues Golden Retrievers, and one particularly special one. Just FYI, in case you might be interested.

15. Oh, we even knew the one found in a dumpster!
The charcater you mention is pretty-well based on a friend of ours who hosts "Goldstock" each Labor Day weekend at her kids' camp in PA. It's a big reunion of Golden Retriever rescuers and their dogs - 300 people and more than 400 dogs. One year we raised $140,000 for rescue in one weekend.

The puppy found in a dumpster with spina bifida is based on Lucy, who was rescued by friends of ours in New Hamshire. They have one of our puppies, Luke, who they got this summer after Lucy died at age ten.

They have sworn since the first night Luke was with them that he "channels" Lucy, and he's a born therapy dog, too, at one year old (today).

Lucy went everywhere with them in a specially converted baby stroller, and was often at the local hospital, nursing home and veterans' hospital doing her therapy work.

The rescue community LOVES Dean Koontz, and he always donates something to our auctions.

5. I'm glad this got posted
I saw this this morning and was once again stunned that that asshole has such a profitable career. Matthews is definitely a Hillary Stalker--I just don't know what he wants to do to the object of his obsession.

What a slathering lack-wit.

And the sad fact is, he'd still this torqued even if she WEREN'T running for president. Bob Somerby at the Daily Howler has long documented Tweety's thigh rubbing obsession with Ms. Clinton.

6. Link to TPM entry:

One Day After Saying He'll "Never Underestimate Hillary Clinton Again," Chris Matthews Says She's Only A Presidential Candidate Because Bill "Messed Around"

January 9, 2008 -- 9:36 AM EST

Normally Chris Matthews isn't worth the bother, because he serves up so much non-stop clowning that there's no humor value left in anything he does, in the same way that printing lots of currency deprives it of worth.

But this Matthews moment really captures something fundamental about the way our pundits have generally approached this race -- and, sadly, will continue to approach it.

Right now you're seeing a lot of hand-wringing and self-flagellation among pundits and commentators who are chastising themselves for getting it wrong and basically writing Hillary's obituary before the voters had their say on the matter. This is all well and good. But the real question now is whether commentators will, you know, learn something from this debacle going forward and let voters speak for themselves.

7. Chris is almost reaching Britany Spears state. Please, take
a deep breath, It only makes you look worse Chris.

Common Sense should have made any pundit question all along.

Early on and mid campaign reports told us Upper Class and more
educated people supported Barak. Think and question polls as
you go. There are fewer people in this group.

At least 7 reporters explained to the public that the Iowans
were voting a "good will vote", a vote which made them feel
good. Common Sense tells you NH would be different.

Double check the source of polling.

Hope Chris gets cooled off soon. (It hurts to be wrong--but)

12. MSNBC loves trash like Fox else why would they still
have Matthews on their cable site. I have often wondered why Fox doesn't woo him away from MSNBC, he'd be more at home there.

16. Unbelievable, he must have a great contract
That was so sexist and embarrassing, are we sure Mr. Matthews isn't a right wing blogger? Do his employers have any idea how embarrassing he is? He should be off doing the weather not allowed near any serious public discussion, no offense to weather people with meteorology degrees. Maybe he just needs better health care.
