I don't think I've ever heard of a lawsuit where someone asked for THIS much money.

PS---I should've posted this sooner. I believe the time period has expired WRT eligibility to appear on the homepage meaning this will sink like a rock. Oh well, my fault.

New Orleans Tradgedy is unbelievable....to this day the Gulf coast is in dissray.

We have Firefighters from the Seattle area going to Mississipi using their vacation to help the Firefighters down there. The Mississipi Firefighters have no tax base $$$$ coming in so the city and the county barely have money to fill the trucks and other emergency vehicles.....so day to day they don't know if they will have fuel for their vehicles. These are the untold stories while the Media focuses on Brittany Spears latest melt down.....

* and his party have moved on.....so as ridiculous as the $$$$$$ is I hope it goes to court.....why the hell not....

I agree with Cenk in the clip, absurd lawsuits like this reduce the credibility of ALL lawsuits and provide fodder for conservatives (who go on to influence other conservatives AND moderates re: "frivolous lawsuits").

For that reason I oppose lawsuits with such absurd dollar amounts.

As in every profession there are those who make the rest look bad. I hope that whoever this person is that filed this was pro se and not represented by some stupid idiot lawyer clamoring for attention. We have enough trouble with the general population and their preconceptions and prejudices against lawyers. Everyone remembers the McDonald's hot coffee suit because the tort reformers and the media portrayed it as the opposite of what it was. Stella Liebeck, an elderly woman had the coffee spilled in her lap and received 3rd degree burns causing her to have to have her labia and clitoris removed. McDonald's had been super heating their coffee way beyond industry standards to double the amount of coffee per bean and had confidentially settled numerous burn lawsuits prior to Ms. Liebeck's accident. The jury awarded several million and the Judge remitted most of it and brought it down to a reasonable amount. McDonald's lowered the temp of their coffee back down to a safe level. The system worked but the sound bite was "woman spills hot coffee and gets millions" is what came out of it. Tort reformers have had a field day and many Plaintiffs with legitimate claims have received nothing from jurors who are now suspicious of every trial lawyer and Plaintiff. This is just more grist for the mill.

I had never heard that until now and I'd be interested in reading more.
