3. Disturbing
That the AG of the United States can sit before a Congressional Judiciary panel and make those types of absurd statements should make every American shudder in fear. That Mr. Durbin did not more aggressively pursue the issue based on the legal fact that waterboarding is torture as defined by he McCain amendment passed by Congress just last year and signed by Bush into law (with a nice little signing statement that is in no way legally binding) or by the Geneva Conventions which was ratified by Congress and therefore the law of the land and that the UCMJ defines it as torture and a war crime and is forbid from using it for any reason and that the United States prosecuted a Japanese General as a war criminal for waterboarding POWs during WWII, how is it AT ALL UNCLEAR from the perspective of the AG of the United States? How could it but be all but clear to anyone on that panel and watching on TV that this man was being anything other than intellectually dishonest about the subject? That he was out-right refusing to answer the question in a manner that exemplifies the integrity and responsibility beholden to his office? Based on this performance alone, Congress has every right to call for his removal from office as quickly as possible.
