When you see the questions that Russert asked Thompson, you can see how HST was ahead of his time.

1. Here's what's really interesting. When I searched the MTP archives for this interview,
I found I could view the transcripts for the entire years of 2004 and 2005. However, the transcripts for 2003 only go back as far as August 24.

Damn, this is amazing. Somehow missed the first go round. K & R. MKJ

3. It's sad that the Doctor of Journalism left us when he did...
...we could use his insights, especially now, with the biggest embarrassment in presidential history at the helm and headed for the abyss at Warp 9.

4. Huh, Russert. Potato head.
Hunter is/was a bright man. I just walk away from this interview with a sense of disorientation. I see someone with common sense being interviewed, or rather lead around on a leash, by a man who asks such unimportant questions, they could have been asked by that stupid hand puppet Lambchop. It's pathetic. Hunter knew it was pathetic, the state of the union. I think this contributed to his death. It's hard to take this kind of idiocy. I know it's been hard on all of us here, in our varied states of learnedness.

He was already hip to the generals not being into this war. What else can you say. A generation in Iraq, I hope not.

I was surprised when my 81 year old dad quoted from the very book, King of Fear. I forget what it was, but it was profound.

I'm tired. Time's up for this day.

Thanks Hunter. Sleep tight.

6. Did HST write anything about the Chimp administration and the
insanity of Iraq? I'd be curious to read what he had to say on the topic.

7. Your video, I sent to Digg and it got to their front page.
Well done, it opened up more people's mind.

It takes over many thousands of votes to get there on their front page.

for many can count you down as well as up.

Thank you for this tape.

8. why did he off himself?
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 02:44 AM by votesomemore
I heard a series of radio programs which inicated Hunter was an "insider" for years. He went to the parties.

A strike of conscious? Or something else. Why did he turn away from the Insider role?

Hunter is no Zappa. Who always showed up sober. big b'doy.
