John Kerry sent this email to the Nevada veterans on his list today

Barack Obama Supports Veterans


As a fellow veteran, I know you realize how important it is having a President in the White House who truly understands the needs of our nation’s veterans. I’ve fought against this White House for full funding of the VA healthcare budget, inclusion of Priority 8 veterans, my GI Bill of Rights, and so many more. And all the time I worked against a White House that used the troops for photo ops and our veterans for budget cuts.

And because of that, I chose carefully my endorsement for President. I chose Senator Barack Obama because I believe he’s the right President for this time, and I also chose him because I know he has the best vision for our nation’s veteran policy. The way our government treats veterans like us is a defining part of our national character, and we’re not the nation we could be without proper, respectful, and fair treatment of our veterans.

So please support Barack Obama in tomorrow’s Nevada caucus. I know I’ve written you before about this, but I wanted to send this special message to veterans in Nevada.

When Barack Obama arrived in Washington, he volunteered for the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, and he’s been an active champion for veterans ever since. He’ll fight for full funding of the VA healthcare budget, an end to veteran homelessness, better treatment for PTSD, and make sure that we ease the transition to civilian life among our returning veterans.

So, because of his commitment to veterans, because of his knowledge of veterans issues, and because of his ability to bring a new direction to our policies, I ask again that you support Barack Obama in tomorrow’s Nevada caucus, and recommend that your friends, family, and neighbors do so, as well. He’s the right President for this country, and he’s the right President for our veterans.
