Latest South Carolina Poll: Obama Widens Lead

Today's the day and http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/26/obama_has_south_carolina_lead_mccain_up_in_florida_poll/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+Latest+news">here's where it stands:

COLUMBIA, South Carolina (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama expanded his lead on rival Hillary Clinton to 15 points heading into South Carolina's bitterly contested presidential primary, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Saturday.

Obama, an Illinois senator, gained two points on Clinton overnight to lead 41 percent to 26 percent just hours before voting began in Saturday's primary. John Edwards was in third place after slipping two points to 19 percent.

5. OK. Olbermann leading MSNBC's all-star coverage of the SC primaries tonight.

Guess which channel I'm watching.

Special coverage started at 6 pm. Polls close 46 minutes from now even as I type this.

I'm running low on fingernails to bite here. Wonder if I can order some replacements over the internets?

7. More than half: "either way, it sucks."
MSNBC's exit polling indicates that 70% of those who voted in today's SC primaries believe that the Clinton campaign has attacked Obama unfairly,

OTOH, 56% of those who voted in today's SC primaries believe that the Obama campaign has attacked Clinton unfairly.

You do the math. More than half of the people who responded to MSNBC's exit polling made it clear that negative campaign attacks suck, no matter who they come from or who they're aimed at.

Gee, ya think??

17. As actual votes are tallied, the percentages are shifting.

But it's still a rout by any standards.

Way to go, Barry O'Bama!

30. I'm doing well, thanks!
And yeah, I really loved that about his speech. Inspiring, but also a very serious, almost gritty undertone to it. Good balance between lifting up and making you feel good, but also being bluntly honest about what to expect next. And oh my goodness--he and his speech-writers know how to use words!

This writer is in word-nirvana about it. :loveya:

21. e pluribus unum, from sea to shining sea.
That whole speech was flippin' awesome.

Brilliant framing, brilliant writing, and -- especially, most especially -- brilliant and heartfelt delivery.

You know, after watching that speech, I reckon as how I just might maybe have to go ahead and vote for that young Obama feller after all...

:0)

27. yup, there's a sea change happening
Joe Scarborough (!!) talked about the messages he gets on his Blackberry every time Obama speaks -- not just from Dems , but even from conservative Republicans. Said that there's something about Obama that touches people. He or one of his fellow Talking Heads mentioned something about Obama touching our "better angels"..

Great speech. There was an edginess and (to quote the Talking Heads) even a defiance about it, all mixed in seamlessly with his appeal to our higher selves. I liked that mixture.I like what's happening right now
I like the thought that there will be a time soon when I can be proud of my president, and proud of my fellow citizens again.

even more so in the context of everything that happened these last couple of weeks. Touched all the right points, sore or otherwise, perfectly. Unbelievable.

Wonderful news.

Do we know how Obama is polling in the Feb 5 states? So far I haven't seen anything for my own state, Missouri. Are there any sites that keep track of those that you know of?
