It's not that I doubt Barack's chances, but...

....well, I'm finding this primary incredibly emotionally draining. And the regular banter at GDP doesn't help for some reason.

1. I am sick of the arrogance and mean-spirited attacks
like they aren't above criticism and who is a fighter and who isn't. I hate that because it is very tiresome.

I guess I am just sick of the bashing also.

3. They do but they are worried about California
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 08:51 PM by politicasista
I was lurking there last night and there is concern about California possibly making or breaking Obama (because of the Clinton latino support, and the extra support from others). Unless they were trolls, but I don't think so.

It looks like the Kennedys will help also. :)

4. California is a big concern
I am hoping lots of Independents will come out though, and offset any swing by Latinos. He has a lot of good supporters in the Latino community, unfortunately Villiaragosa and now Maxine Waters, are good supporters too. I would love for Boxer to endorse, or Al Gore would be wild. But it's not looking like either one of those will happen. I think maybe the campaign doesn't know how some of this bipartisan stuff is playing out here.

5. I am hoping that scenario will happen
I hope the independents will break for Obama. I heard that Maxine promised the Clintons if HRC ran, she would support her candidacy because Bill did appoint her husband the Ambassador of the Bahamas.

Yep. I would love for Boxer and Gore to endorse, but it's looking very unlikely.

7. I talked my mom in CA into switching from
Clinton to Obama the breaker was Caroline Kennedy. I hope others see the light that way. The thing that worries me is time. For once I wish CA was back to March or later. Obama doesn't have the time he needs.

Most people who aren't paying attention just think Clintons good dem pres. Thats what I used to think before my eyes were opened when I joined politics in 2003.

I voted for Bill twice and for Gore and then Kerry. And I wonder how many people who voted twice for Bill like me who aren't watching just think oh clinton fine, I don't know the other guy and he looks young. They hear a sound bite about experience and whammo...

The media is going against the Clintons and part of me knows its the repubs who never liked them and the other part of me is glad because it helps Obama.

8. I'm starting to smell a lot of rats in GDP
A poll at Dkos saying that by far the most Edwards people are going over to Obama.

The Hillary Clinton Supporters Group is a sham--one person keeps posting stuff and nobody replies.

But GD-P is still chock full of a steady stream of pro-Hillary, anti-Obama stuff?

Something's fishy. Something's not right. From the looks of DU, 75% of Edwards people are either not going to vote, will write in Edwards, or are going to Hillary. A few nice souls say they are switching to Obama, but their posts are positive and optimistic.

Overall, the negativity is overwhelming, with accusations that the Obama people are starting it, the cynicism, the despair, the name-calling...so I ask, which candidate has echoed these same sorts of tactics in the media lately?

Either there are true Hillary supporters here with lots of free time who have been very very busy, or something else is going on.

11. There are many Hillary people
with 1000+ posts - that have an Oct or Nov 2007 date. They also seem to be posting talking points. They are all pretty articulate and write well - not a bad thing, but combined with the other things - fishy. I don't know how to say it - but they don't seem to really be part of the culture - there is nothing of themselves in the posts.

12. The most disgusting ra..err, poster in GDP this AM was the one asking
who Caroline Kennedy was. :eyes: She couldn't possibly be more transparent.

There are a few long-time posters that I have to say have really disappointed me. Not because of the candidate they choose to support, but because of their nasty snark and sudden lack of concern for the facts.

I do smell a lot of support trolls too. Wonder how long they'll be around once the election is over.
