My name is
Joe Pacheco.

I wrote "On a Wing and a Prayer".

My kid is a Sgt in the 3/2 - you know why I understand - cause many of my family commanded in the other war - and I grew up with war? - I know that ugly face.

I remember the suicides - years after the war - and I will never forget.

And they have a right to speak right now. And they are speaking thru all of us.

YOU SEND THOSE DUMB KIDS HOME - SEND THEM HOME!!


They have no fuc-ing idea what they signed up for - not at all.

HOW DARE YOU PEOPLE!!!

Let them go home.

Years. And I thought - you know - if people really understood what they did - what war really was - we wouldn't do it very often.

People don't understand, and that is the problem. My dad was a fighter pilot in WWII and didn't talk about it much. I had to find out from other sources what it was like.

The idiots running bushwar either have no experience or are making the decision not to care. It is that second group, combat vets like McCain, who deserve a special place in hell...

would listen and not go to war needlessly again. No one wanted to listen to us then and most don't now.

I think a soldier has his or her own personal hell to carry around with them until they die.

My dad served in WWII, me and my brother served in Vietnam and we have never really talked to each other about our experiences. We just keep them to ourselves and silently watch the country and it's people do it over and over again. And the chicken hawks carry flags and say they support the troops all the while hiding under the covers.

Now - my brothers in law - different story - you think I am opposed to this war? - here from them!@!! You have no idea. They did war -

And some of them did this war too -

The opposition - it is geoemtrical.

My DIL made it back (in one piece) stateside. I don't know about the rest of her yet, she is still in N Carolina and the kids are still with me here on the west coast.

War and killing people is not a natural act and if there are some that believe that it does not exact a toll on the people that we send into a war zone then I've got some land that I'd like to sell them.

Hang in there, Joe. I think about you and your boy often. Please take care of yourself, your son really needs you.
