Edited on Tue Jun-05-07 04:47 PM by The Count
Only 6 Senators did.

Only six Senators thought that sending our country's bravest off to war to die was worth a few minutes of their time. How long a report would you have read before deciding to send our nation's finest to war?"

My comment

I wouldn't blame the senators voting "No" for getting their info elsewhere (like I did). Nor will I - like the author - forgive Biden/et al - "because he read".
But those who didn't read and voted yes - shame!

1. I fault everyone who voted for that war resolution. Every damn one.
May they be forever haunted by the 700,000 people who died in this shameful war of aggression.

2. Those 94 should be thrown out of office and replaced.
If you are going to authorize a half wit president to use any force necessary without reading the proposition you arent doing your job. Hell Ill gladly take one of their positions, I have no problem taking my time to read things out before I sentence people to die. Not that I have ever done that before but.. you get my point. Shit. this is just stupid.   :puke:   :wtf:

3. There were NOT 94 votes FOR war in the senate - only 77
22 Dems and a GOP-er voted against - so I don't care what they read before that.

5. Thank you
I keep hearing this 94 number. The people who voted no have nothing to be ashamed of.

8. All congressional members should read what they sign into law.
That is just common sense. And, hello Count havent talked to you since the Al Sharpton thing.

4. They got the NIE briefing the night before the vote, I believe. The WH dragged their feet on it.
Senators had been asking for it and only got it on the eve of the vote.

The vote was not delayed because of the Prez's speech at the UN.

Pretty sneaky.

7. Yeah, and they couldn't ask for time to read it because...?
Anyway, Edwards sponsored the bill already, so any read was not likely to make a difference....Accoding to Durbin, in the Senate Intelligence Committee he knew enough about the faked intelligence when he proceeded to sponsor the bill with Joementum.

9. What is says is that our ELECTED REPS don't read and go with the "flow."
The "flow" of sentiment at that time was closer to Giuliani than those of us on Liberal Web Sites who were E-Mailing the UN Reps at 2:00 a.m. to BEG THEM TO STOP THIS BUSH WAR!

I will never FORGET the heroic efforts of DU'ers and the few other Liberal Activists we had at that point across the "Flegling Internet" in DOING EVERYTHING THEY COULD ..to STOP THIS WAR & OCCUPATION.

The "Internet" folks KNEW about the BOGUS CRAP to HYPE THIS WAR! When will WE EVER BE VINDICATED for what we DUG UP and SPENT SO MUCH TIME PARSING? WHEN?
