Dear Mr. Cooper,

The phrase, "in the interest of full disclosure, we should let you know that _________ Co. is the owner of __________." seems to pop up more and more on Cable television lately. With corporations owning mass media outlets, that is an important part of journalism today. Disclosing how viewers may feel a story is colored by money is a big deal. Part of truly being informed is being presented with these important details.

But again and again, your host Tucker Carlson reports on the Scooter Libby trial and sentencing without disclosing that his father is on the Advisory Committee for Mr. Libby's Defense Fund

When called out recently by the Huffington Post to come clean - your employee ducked the admission by blogging that his father had "given money" to the defense fund. Quite a cop out - a donation is a far cry from being on the Advisory Committee. Tucker even complained that Cheney hadn't raised money for said fund. Frustrating? Yes.

So tonight, while trying to catch up on the news of the day, I turned on MSNBC. Tucker Carlson was on. Please watch the video of this segment with Margaret Carlson. Again, no disclosure - yet lots of sadness that his Dad's friend was going to jail. Why?

CBS News felt it was important enough to add in a story on the Legal Defense Fund that "One of those friends is Dick Carlson, ...(Carlson’s son is Tucker Carlson, the conservative TV pundit.)", so why the silence from Carlson himself? And why is he not reprimanded for it?

My sincere hope is that, in future blogs and segments where Mr. Carlson feels it necessary to comment on the Scooter Libby saga, he will remember to make it clear that his immediate family is linked to Mr. Libby, before adding his .02 to an unknowing audience.

Thank you,
FlDem5
