Army soldier hanged, mom says
More bizarre news out of Iraq. What the hell is going on over there?

"Rateb's mother, Elizabeth Howell, of Summerville, S.C., said Wednesday night that her son was found hanged the day he was supposed to leave Iraq to come home for a visit with his family.

The Army originally said his death was a suicide, “but the way they found him, his hands were cuffed behind his back, that's not suicide. To me, it's not,” Howell said."

5. Fragging took place against officers who were sending men into battle
against the Vietnamese. Not against GI's on their way home. So this is certainly not a case of fragging.

It certainly is possible that it was a case of murder. Perhaps he knew something?

4. I want the criminals who hanged him brought to justice.
Why would any mother allow their son to join a military which is out of control because their commander in chief is out of control.

13. Blame a mother for her son's death in a war.

How........compassionate of you.

I just hope, for her sake, that she doesn't run into the likes of you ANYWHERE.

That is just ugly, on so many levels.

11. Some of the troops have been out of control for a long time now.
Suggests lack of proper supervision.
And drugs and alcohol.
Also I suspect black market illegalities and intrigue.

This is not the first suspicious suicide.

14. Chilling.
There is definitely far more going on here than a suicide or some variation of 'blanket party' gone wrong.

Did someone perhaps issue a "code red"?

15. CID is a joke in the Army.
They let people get away with murder in the Army. Well, at least for the enlisted personal.
