So, we're torturing kids as young as 7 now.
On Rachel Maddow now, she's talking about these people bush has "disappeared."

Apparently, there are also reports of children as young as 7 being tortured -- for example covering their bodies in ants to "find out information about their relatives."

How the hell can people in the US lead their day-to-day lives, following their ordinary routine, knowing that this is going on?

18. Most people would not know that. I didn't know they had children
at gitmo, until I was watching the c-span book thing and they had the some laywers who working for the detainees... I really didn't know they were holding children in prisons.. I knew they were being blown up as colateral damage (which pisses me off), but I couldn't imagine that they would do these horrible things to innocent children.. I guess I was delusional. I should have known better with this vile crew. That's when I really made it a point to make it to all possible protest events...

My example of the children and mothers finally turned my husband... I said what if I was going to the Publix, I kiss you good bye, load up the kid, and the store is bombed.. I am dead, your child is dead... how would you feel. Tell me again this war is right. No war is right.

I'm afraid it's a reliable source.

Remember the Franklin scandal? Maybe the "wrinkle" threads weren't so crazy after all.

4. Because I can't save the world.
I'm doing what I can do.

In the meantime, I choose to continue to live the one life I have to live as fully as possible, love my family and friends, work in my community, speak out for what's right, and take what action I can to oppose this kind of injustice.

I'm not going to sit around in permanent sackcloth and ashes because the world is a shitty place. I choose to rebel against the powers that be and defy the evil in this world by living and loving anyway.

No, I won't turn a blind eye, and I'll do what I can. But I'm not apologizing for the fact that I'll be vacationing with close family and friends that I love next week, or that I have happy celebrations with my friends from time to time, or that I go to work every day - or anything else that you call the "day to day routine."

5. I once had a repuke neighbor tell me he didn't care if 11 year olds got raped.
This neighbor of mine is a born again and really thinks he's a Christian. I asked him once how he could put up with 11 year old boys being raped as a form of torture. I said I thought it was horrible and I thought we were a Christian Nation. He said that he didn't care how many 11 year old boys got raped as long as it helped one of our soldiers. I didn't have a come back, I was so disgusted. He must have seen it on my face because he looked surprised that he said it. He quickly changed the subject.

6. Ask him if Jesus said that one should love the enemy as much as one loves oneself.
He knows damn well what Jesus' teachings were if he even bothered to read his life, but he only selectively follows what he finds suitable. He's blowing bullshit your way.

8. He is such a caricature
He is the ultimate in born again, repuke, bush lover. It amazes me he actually exists. He listens to this popular baptist preacher and never read the good book himself. Yet he goes on and on as if he is the ultimate authority on the bible. He would never recognize Jesus if he met him.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving person. Seems his wife has been cheating on him for a long, long time. Makes you wonder.

14. I had one of those too.
In fact I came home early to my ex-wife throwing down in our bed.
That being said, I still dont think its ok to rape 11 year old boys to extract imformation.
Being the good christian I am.

but that's pretty horrific. And it's not like he admitted he was wrong to say it.

25. I never run into people who say stuff like this - sometimes I wonder if its being exaggerated.
I really wish I would run into someone who said things like this while professing to be a christian. But I never do. :(

20. Not only that, but children have been RAPED at Abu Ghraib in front of their parent...to get the
parent prisoner to talk. Wives have been RAPED too. Just wait until the film is released. The Pentagon has been ordered to release them, but the Pentagon refuses to do so.:(

Why don't we 'go after' these evil people who torture? Who torture CHILDREN?!!!!

If this thought doesn't appall you enough, in a 'different scenario' it will be/could be YOUR children tortured. And IF YOU DON't UNDERSTAND THAT.......you're UTTERLY hopeless. I will dust off my feet, and NEVER do anything to help you and your kind....EVER! (that's not a threat, it's a PROMISE).

24. I wonder that too.
Torture and murder. Call it what it is, coldblooded pain and humiliation. Defiant of international laws.

America? Well, in theory the place is still kinda nice. If you don't lift up the rug and look underneath.
