On Paris, our media, our society and the rule of
unintended consequences

So here we have ooodle of threads about essentially a story that best case scenario belongs in the social pages (yes they exist )

Why?

Our media needs to keep us dumb and down. While the media was covering this non story wall to wall, which in a slow news day I guess would be okay, we have all but a slow news day. They didn't tell us some important things, such as our fearless leader visit to Europe or that he was indisposed and failed to go to the morning meetinsg. Or the agreement with Putin or ... I could go on.

Nor did they really tell us that we passed the 3500 troop dead... hey Paris is gonig to the pokey.

Now what about the law of unintended consequences.

The story did expose the cesspool that are the jails

It also exposed her fragile mental state... having all that money and she does have ahem issues... and serious issues

Oh and after listening to many of the people involved, she wasn't treated and still is not treated as any of us... due to their small problems with overcrowding most of us would serve an hour two perhaps...

So in the laws of uninteded consequenes they will start treateing her for her psychiatric conditions... its not the best treatmnet, but they will

And we have now seen the soft underbelly of the LA County Legal System which many of us knew or suspected was bad. Now we have an inkling of exactly how bad it is.

Of couse, in the law of unintended consequences you have to read between the lines to get to the real story....

The LA County Jail is beyond overcrowded

And

An Aermican Princess needs psychiatic attention.

Not that media will pursue either of them.

But Paris is in the pokey and we have a Paris watch (don't kid yourselves, Pappaparazzi are parked waiting for her to come out)

Oh and the media.... they are now manufacturing news... and they only care about the ENTERTAINMENT value.

2. NO, NO, NO!
The lie here is that Paris is what people want. NOBODY wants this shit. The media run with it, while most of the public is LAUGHING at the media itself. This trash was on the fricking AP Urgent Wire yesterday.

NOBODY CARES! Except editors who can't pay people to get real news, and editors who just love sucking the bloated penis of pop culture.

4. True - they give the people what they've made up their minds the people want,
but I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone, anywhere, who thinks this story warrants the attention it's gotten.

I'll even agree it does deserve SOME attention as it touches on some real concerns: A different standard of justice for people with money, the overcrowding in our jails, the appearance that certainly Baca and probably the judge too were using this particular defendant to make a point.

But seriously, who the hell WANTS this?

5. the press won't get it until stories like this
crash and burn, and they do this repeatedly

Teh problem is that many folks turn on the tube hoping for news and leave it on

their evidence are ratings

Until they crash so badly that they have no way of missing it... they will continue to do this

Hell, I fear they will continue to do this since they have access to the mike and we don't... and that is the way they like it

1984 comes to mind,... as well as the Manufacturing of consent
