Sorry, but I don't think either will happen and am getting tired of both of these subjects. At what point will people stop bringing these up, maybe after the first Dem primary maybe? Or will the impeachment talk go all the way until the next Dem president is inaugurated. At some point you have to realize there are other more pressing matters that deserve attention.

2. I agree

that neither is likely to happen.

But the day before the election, I expect to see "Will Gore announce tonight?" threads, and on January 19, 2009, there will be demands for impeachment here.

Unlike your post, I didn't see him try to stop anyone from posting about anything, nor tell anyone they needed to leave. If he's the post police, you're the fucking Post Rove!

I will decide for myself what deserves my attention, thank you very much.

12. 'constantly' is a bit of an exxageration
Edited on Wed Jun-20-07 07:31 PM by hfojvt
I was not aware of such activities. Of course, many here do suspect that I have my head in the sand, if not up my a$$, but I think I would have seen something 'constant'.

And I mostly agree with the premise of the OP, not that I am against either action, but all of this trying to predict the future move of Gore is tiresome as are the extreme demands for impeachment. It's a little bit like 'look at the way Bush breathes. He's GOT to be IMPEACHED!! Breathing like that is just wrong. If he doesn't get impeached my head will explode and I will never vote for another Democrat!'

21. What I love to see are the threads which simply say "impeach" or "run Gore"
get all of the recommends that they get like they are the first to say something so profound. Yep, I think that by the end of 2008 that the number of DU registered members should actually go down due to the great amount of exploding heads.

As far as Impeachment...

If no one has noticed any High Crimes or Misdemeanors in the last 6 years, then they ought to set the crack pipe down.

Even if POS Bush leaves office without being impeached, I truly, deeply hope that SOMEONE pursues prosecution of this man for crimes against humanity.

Mass murder is still a crime, right?

There is a lot more variety here than just posts about impeachment and Gore. From what I've seen, you don't like many opinions here. Maybe if you're tired of the two aforementioned subjects, you should just hide the threads and continue to contribute to other threads that interest you.

35. Echo that!
I'll hold out hope for Gore till Octoberish...

He could easily get a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th and win the whole thing. I would not say that about anyone else; but Al is uniquely poised at this very moment in time to do something unprecedented and historical.

The netroots would create a tidal wave of support beyond anything ANY politician has enjoyed. All Al has to do is ---- RUN!

30. If it doesn't happen, it will be because people haven't demanded it forcefully enough.
Edited on Wed Jun-20-07 08:01 PM by Marr
Or because our representatives ignore a clear mandate from the people. In either case, this isn't the time to stop making noise. This is the time to get louder.

Politicians don't do anything populist unless they have to. If politicians can get power without addressing you're concerns, they'll wield that power without addressing your concerns, too.

32. Posts that start with "Sorry" ... hmmm.
What's next?

"I don't mean to be rude, but"...
"This may offend you, but"...

If one is going to start a post with any of these, think first. Ponder.

Of course, one may be tired. You'd be in good company.

ON the other hand,

Get over it. Pressing matters? What, like accountability? Finding a viable candidate?

Or calling for one's binky.

If one is so "tired" enough to start a thread...

It is akin to the "stick and move" habits of some who suffer from sever flatulence. :)

33. As long as I am here, IMPEACHMENT talk will be as far as I can encourage it.
It's Job One for this country. Beyond ANY doubt. If I had only one breath left, it would be to say the names of my kids and my husband, and then, "IMPEACH bush AND cheney!!!"

There IS no more pressing matter, my friend. NONE. For those who say "let's get the peace and then get the justice," one must remember that without justice there can be no peace. And that's not mine, either. I heard it on the radio yesterday.

There IS NO MORE PRESSING MATTER. Unless of course you don't mind being the citizen of a completely lawless country with a rogue goverment that knows no curbs or limits or consequences for horrendously criminal acts.
