Once again... I should NOT be the only one to "Boo" The Animatronic Bush at Disney World!

This time, I yelled "Boo! Boo!" in front of a full house in The Hall of Presidents, as people sought shelter in a torrential downpour just as they canceled an outdoor show.

See video:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v653/ian02302/?action=view¤t=0615071916.flv

For some reason, the recording quality makes it sound like I was shouting "Bewwww" instead of "Boooo.
I was drowned-out by stupid Limbots cheering the leering dictator, who later complained that I was being "disrespectful."

You know what's disrespectful?

Putting that genocidal psychopath who stole the election in the same room as Abraham Lincoln, who had to suffer the indignity of speaking immediately after Der Chimpenfuhrer.

However, Disney did get one thing right-- they placed Bush directly next to Nixon.

My daughter fell asleep during The Civil War portion of the show, or else she would have joined me.

My wife wasn't happy about the whole thing, but I reminded her that at least I'm not the guy who attacked the wax dummy of Bush in Vegas.

We're going to Disney World next month. Let's have a DU Meet-up at The Hall of Presidents!

1. I hissed at the Bush in Madame Tussauds - Amsterdam
The people around me laughed.

I was walking along, saw him - and just hissed before I could stop myself.

I agree with you...more people should have been Boo'ing the war criminal. No one owes that fucker any respect - for any reason.

3. Maybe there's some way to disable Der Bushbot.
Like with a high-power radio, or one of those things you use to switch off TVs in public places.

11. I sent it to Stephanie Miller. I don't know yet if she's played it on the air.
Edited on Thu Jun-21-07 12:33 PM by IanDB1
I'm still catching-up on the Stephcasts (Only $4.95 per month when you purchase a year in advance).

I'm still listening to the June 15th broadcast.

I also sent her a clip of my daughter singing "The Scooter Libby Song" on the "It's A Small World" ride.

I love irony.

7. Not long ago, at the college I'm attending, some idiot was
going on about how the war was "just and good". I said I thought bush is an idiot and that this war was unjust and the evidence fabricated to create a situation where Americans were driven by fear to react to a "enemy" that just didn't have the power to do us much harm. I got the usually retort, "fighting them there so we didn't have to fight them here", which I said was ridiculous and laughed. I then asked him why he wasn't at the recruiter instead of just using air to "fight the terrorists". If this was a priority, he should belay his education and get in the fray. I was met w/some garbage about the office of the president should not be denigrated.

I said, "OK, I agree w/that, but did you say the same thing when Clinton was president, or were you on the 'hit squad' against Clinton?" Unbelievably, he said he could never support a president who lied to the American people. I got up, and said I was leaving, and looked him dead in the eye asking him, "Did Clinton's 'lie' kill 3000+ of our troops and maim many thousands more? Did Clinton's 'lie', destroy 2 countries and alienate us from the rest of the world, and possibly ignite a new religious war scenario?
When will people like you stop the hypocrisy, stand up for what is right and just admit this man is simply the worst president and most corrupt leader we've ever had?"
All but 2 others got up and left as well, some of them saying things like, "bush IS an idiot", bush is bad", bush lives for killing", etc.

I'd "boo" him at Disney world, I'd "boo" him in person at a speech, I'd "boo" him in the bathroom, or in a restaurant, a store or anywhere else. People need to see that this man is a horror, and barely reaches a standard that calls him human.

15. of course, if the point wasn't to be disrespectful, what was it?
Presumably it wasn't to communicate something to the robot. It was to express the fact that the person represented by the robot is deserving of respect. And the fact that doing so will bother some people, but maybe make them think about why the booing is going on ...well, again, isnt' that the point?

20. How do we know for sure that the robot on stage isn't the REAL George W. Bush...
and that the one in The White House isn't actually a robot?

Seriously, though.

You're right.

The point wasn't to make the robot feel bad.

The point was to demonstrate something to the audience.

22. too late to edit my own post
But, of course, I meant to say that the purpose of booing the robot presumably was to express the fact the person represented by the robot is NOT deserving of respect.

10. oh my god
in 2002, my whole extended family went to WDW and my brother took a picture of me standing in front of the Hall of Presidents giving the finget to a banner that said "Welcome George W Bush" My son (9 years old) at the time asked why i did that - I explained that I thought he was the worst president ever and that he stole the election (this was before the war began). ever since then my son has taken an interest in politics - it is great

the pic is my screensaveer at home!

14. They had Bush's cowboy boots with the Presidential Seal on them on display at Disney
You should have seen the look I got when I commented to the guy next to me, "I didn't know they HAD cowboys in Connecticut."

They also had a helmet from Pappy Bush that he used the second time he jumped out of a plane.

The FIRST time Pappy Bush jumped from a plane, it was to abandon the rest of his crew to die because he was too chicken-shit to try and land the thing.

I thought about telling my daughter, "See that person? That's John F. Kennedy. See that picture? That's Shrub's father. He's the man who killed John F. Kennedy." I decided not to, because I'm not 100% convinced that it's true. But it sure would have been fun to see the looks I would have gotten.

In fact, I don't think I could stop my kids from doing it automatically (they're 9 and 12, and certainly no fans of Bush).

18. I thought about playing "Der Fuhrer's Face" from my MP3-enabled phone
But I decided against doing anything to Bush you wouldn't do to any of the other villains at Disney World.

I mean, you're allowed to "Boo" The Wicked Witch, but I don't think they'd appreciate someone shouting, "The Witch is a murderer!"

So, I decided against shouting, "Impeach" or anything like that-- nothing you wouldn't do to any of the FICTIONAL villains. Just "Boo!"

Please go Boo the BushBot, and (if possible) record it and share it here.

People need to know that it is okay to protest. That they are not alone. And foreign visitors to WDW need to see that we are NOT all behind the murderous chimp.

19. We really need to find some willing mechanic at Disney to sneak in there
and change what GW Bush says. Granted, a single airing will cause the Hall of Pres to be immediately shut down for maintainance, but just think of how fun it would be for all the non-Bushbots sitting in that one performance to hear the Bush robot say something snarky instead of dignified. :)

Maybe the guy who decided to put Bush directly next to Nixon will read this and do it?
