Moore power to Al Gore

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday, June 21st 2007, 4:00 AM

Is Michael Moore waiting to throw his weight behind an Al Gore White House bid?

The director said Tuesday at a lunch for his new film, "Sicko," that the man he wanted to see as the next President of the United States had not entered the race yet.

And he followed it up, obliquely, with some warm words for the former veep.

"He's smart, funny and has humility," Moore said of his fellow liberal documentarian, who took home an Oscar this year for "An Inconvenient Truth."

Moore said: "People in Europe don't complain about paying taxes when they actually pay more taxes, because they actually see a tangible result. They get something in return. Americans hate paying taxes because we can’t even get a pothole fixed."

6. He endorsed General Clark in 2004.
If Gore enters and the General does not, MM will endorse Gore. If the General enters and Gore does not, he will endorse Clark. I can't see a scenario where both Gore and General Clark enter, so I won't speculate.

7. One small problem.
GORE IS NOT GOING TO RUN. Wake up and smell the coffee.

10. One small hole in your theory.
Gore has not ever ruled out a 2008 run.

Sorry to burst your bubble. I'm sure you'd rather he stay out of the race. :eyes:

11. a simple endorsement might not have helped - but if he had
put his creativity and money into some ads or films
that would work for sure.

12. His Wes Clark endorsement helped put the General over the top in 2004
in the Oklahoma primary, anyway.
