Bush And Cheney Waltz Into The Sunset ... ...
.
What do you think the people working for Bush and Cheney are thinking?

(I am realist enough to understand Bush and Cheney will never face justice for their actions. This just is not going to happen.)

But think about it. As Bush and Cheney waltz into the sunset with their blood-soaked ill gotten gains, laughing at the rest of us, those who helped them to get away with their crimes are going to be feeling rather exposed.

The incoming administration will not have to be willing to take the heat and protect the underlings left behind. The underlings will watch as the bosses leave the office. Now what? The laws are quite clear. Giving an unlawful order is against the law. And oh so many orders have been illegal.

And Congress is in the hands of the opposition political party.

So will Presidential pardons be given to protect the lower criminals? Will it matter?

Will rendering your president and vice president to the International Court Of Justice in The Hague (Netherlands) for trial as war criminals re-establishing the rule of law within USA?

Thank you for your time. I had to vent.

1. It's hard to say
Loyalty to President Bush means loyalty upwards, never loyalty downwards. He's more than willing to watch his subordinates go to jail I think. The only reason to pardon them is to protect himself (see for example his defense of Gonzales, necessitated by a knowledge of how bad exposing Gonzales would be for him personally).

As for the Hague, that's more of a pipe dream than Impeachment I'm afraid. No president or congress would allow it because of the Precedent it would set (some animals are equaller than others).

3. The Congressional Investigations Are Only Beginning.
And think, "Gonzales will get a pardon, but underlings are left swinging slowly in the wind."

4. Only Impeachment can stop the bushcheney steamroller. . .

Impeachment is the means by which We the People enforce our will and the dictates of the Constitution when officials break our common contract. We delegated the power to Congress -- our Voice.

Only we can repair the breach. No other authority can do it. If we think we can look to the next person who occupies the Office of the President to "restore" Constitutional dictates, we'd better think again. Believing a president has the power to "restore" is just the flip side of believing he has the power to nullify.

Our Constitution is in breach. We are the sovereigns. Impeachment is of absolute necessity to preserving that sovereignty.

Anything short of impeachment is enabling. Pelosi and Co are giving Bush cover with their attempt to fool the American people into believing that something short of impeach can "force" Bush to "change course." Many Americans may continue to be fooled, but reality is coming home to roost, which should be obvious from the nose dive in Congressional approval.

7. Most will get away. A few lower on the rung will take the heat for the higher ups.
This is the way BushCo has worked for decades.
The fat cats laugh all the way to the bank.
The rest of the world has to clean up the mess.
