We need a social CATHARSIS in this country

We need a collective confronting of our biggest problem: the paralyzing quality of FEAR

Here’s something DH Lawrence wrote in 1929. I believe:

"The only reason for living is being fully alive,
And you can’t be fully alive if you are crushed by secret fear,
And bullied with the threat “Get money or eat dirt!
And forced to do a thousand mean things meaner than your nature
And forced to clutch on to possessions in the hope they’ll make you feel safe
And forced to watch everyone that comes near you lest they’ve come to do you down

Without a bit of common trust in one another we can’t live.
In the end we go insane.
It is the penalty of fear and meanness, being meaner than our natures.

To be alive, you’ve got to feel a generous flow,
And under a competitive system that is impossible really,
The world is waiting for a great new movement of generosity

Or for a great wave of death"

Do we have it within ourselves to feel 'a generous flow' or will our country crack-up under fear-induced insanity?

its like we had a national nervous breakdown after 9/11. leading to irrational decisions being carried out by the harmful idiots that inhabit the Executive Branch, and people went along because of ignorance/anxiety/stupor after effects of the attack.

now we're fractured as a people, and our government with the harmful idiots still in charge.

Where is our reckoning? It has to come, and come from within ourselves. It won't be easy, and we are nervous and distracted. Busy and tired and worried about money.
