She's the one SINATRA called a two-dollar something or other. She often says she's the only Dem at the NY Post, although her gossip colleagues there (the-oldest-person-named-"Cindy"(ADAMS) and the Page Six guy) swim the cocktail circuit from one end to the other and frequently have morsels that are political. And "gossip" does NOT equate with "UNtruth." It might be embarrassingly personal and not-wanted-to-be-exposed, but not UNtrue. And, no, MURDOCH doesn't sit around every day dictating what these people write. Liz is getting on up there. On one talk show she headed for the host's chair and had to be steered over to the other one. Plus, I don't get her thing with Elaine STRITCH...

I WATCHED MSNBC's Keith Olbermann the other night. His report on the Clintons' satiric video based on "The Sopranos" finale was dire. He made so much fun of everything about it that I honestly thought it must be a horrible flop until I actually saw it myself. (My personal verdict is "Long live the Clintons!" and may they continue to develop their marriage, their ambitions and their increasingly excellent senses of humor. Whoever thought of doing this video is a genius. And that both Clintons took a chance on doing such a thing is amazingly encouraging.)

I never miss Keith's MSNBC show, as I never miss his enemy, Fox's Bill O'Reilly. I'm afraid I'll overlook some divergent point of view.

Ideological agendas on both sides are mind-boggling. You have to look at everything and decide for yourself.

1. over 20 years ago, when Larry King still had a radio show, she was a guest.

A caller, after saying some nice things to her, said this:

CALLER: How big is your box?

SMITH: What?

CALLER: How big is your box?

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my entire life.

that said, she's very progressive, very pleasant to listen to

I felt sorry for her that night, after I started breathing again
