EU Experts Clash on Approving Latest GMO Maize Type

Herculex maize has been at the centre of a number of contamination scandals," Friends of the Earth Europe said.

"The sudden and rapid move to try and authorise Herculex maize suggests that the European Commission is more concerned with 'neutralising' a potential legal problem of illegal contamination rather than dealing with contamination by unauthorised GMOs," it said in a statement.
