LOL Funny Religious Freep-Fighting (RE: Mormons, Romney)
It's kind of funny because once they start talking about mormons, they get some who defend them (or ARE them) and then they start making snarky comments about Catholics, Baptitsts, Evangelicals, etc....kinda fun to see them unveil their hidden "Christian" prejudices and turn it loose on each other!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1856065/posts?q=1&;page=51

Faves:

"We are talking about a group of people who think that T-Rex was walking around the holy land at the same time as Jesus. Of course they are not going to vote for someone who says that Joseph Smith stuck his head in a hat and read some gold plates, coming up with a story that contradicts the old and new testaments in hundreds of ways.

Just statin’ the obvious."

"I also honestly have never liked business trips to Salt Lake City because you can tell who is Mormon, and who is not, and you can tell a difference in the way they operate.

And this whole idea of a Mormon prophecy where one of theirs becomes president just as “America is about to fall”......it’s political suicide. And that’s the way I see it."

"Baptists spend too much time worrying about other people and what they are doing. Maybe they should pay a little more attention to themselves and work there first. Nothing like having Fred Phelps as a member."

"All other Baptists reject those freaky nut jobs as not being Baptists in the first place.
Why don't Mormons reject their freaky nut jobs, such as Joseph Smith?"

1. Best one:
"I leaned toward supporting Romney until I researched what the Mormons (LDS) teach. Sorry, I just can’t vote for a man who believes that God was once a man and progressed to being God, that Jesus & Lucifer were brothers in the beginnings, God & Mary had sex and conceived Jesus, etc. etc. etc.

God God used to be a man on another planet, Mormon Doctrine, p. 321. Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, Vol 5, pp. 613-614; Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol 2, p. 345, Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 333.)

God had sexual relations with Mary to make the body of Jesus, (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, p. 218, 1857; vol. 8, p. 115.)"

5. You know I was raised Catholic so I understand Immaculate Conception
is a BFD and all to a lot of people, but seriously how crazy is that, that if you think Jesus was conceived with any kind of sex involved you're not qualified to be President. WEIRD!

9. Except
The Immaculate Conception does not refer to Jesus' conception, but Mary's, who was, according to the Church, born without Original Sin.

2. T-Rex wasn't in the Holy Land the same time as Jesus???
Next you'll tell me that Moses and the Israelites didn't escape the Egyptians on the backs of flying pterodactyls.

3. Actually one lady I know told me that she thinks
That the "behemoth" mentioned in the bible was a dinosaur and that they all "perished in the Great Flood."

7. I've heard similar stories
But my question to them always comes back to...
"If God wanted to preserve these animals, wouldn't God have made sure NOah had all the animals on the Ark before God flooded the Earth?"
I mean, part of the joy of being All-Powerful, Omnipotent, God is that you can do anything. If this preservation was that important why did he let them die -- there is no mention, that I've seen, in the Bible of these animals being extinguished in the flood.

My other question to them is, "What about the fish and other underwater creatures?" Were they affected by the flood, or because the had gills and lived underwater, were they totally unaffected by this flood?"

8. B'cuz the Dinosaurs were too unruly and vicious.
Noah thought that they would eat all of da other animals, so he decided not to bring them on board da ark. I'm typing this slow in case you can't read fast. Plus, the dinosaurs were waaay too big. This made Noah sad, but he did what he had to do. He didn't want to get bit!

I visited the creation museum, and all I got was dummer...
