RWers must be worried about Al Gore - 3 letters slamming him in my weekly
Some RW radio hosts must have gotten word to start demonizing Al Gore and global warming, because it seems kind of convenient that 3 anti-Gore letters show up at once.

I hadn't heard that scientists were abandoning the idea of global warming in droves - typical RW propaganda with no facts supporting it.

feel free to respond - it's anonymous and you can just fill in a town in northeastern CT for location (you have to click Speak Out & Submit, I think)

CHECK OUT AL GORE

For those of you who have seen Al Gore’s movie about the impending doom of this planet, you need to check out the other side of the argument before you make up your mind. The info is out there if you want to find it. Many of the world famous scientists who were on his bandwagon have jumped off in the last few months. Why? Because as they study the data, it doesn’t add up. One thing to think about, if we are causing global warming on Earth, what is causing it on Mars? The sun plays a huge role in our lives and weather here and throughout the solar system

JUNK SCIENCE

A response to “Inconvenient Truth.” I, too, was concerned about Al Gore’s movie until I realized that the science behind it had a business/political agenda and educated myself on the science behind it. A couple facts not mentioned: The majority of carbon dioxide emissions come from volcanoes, leaves rotting in the forest and even the ocean. That “stunning” chart that shows the correlation between CO2 and global warming is easily debunked when you see other scientifically-based charts that counter Gores opinion. Our environment is precious and we need to take care of it but not with junk science based on emotion.
Another response: There is one thing we should all remember: Al Gore is a politician, not a scientist.

1. The soldiers are following orders and marching forth proudly
albeit in the comfort of their basements. "Other scientifically based charts." Provided by whom, scientists or those with an agenda? Imagine, Gore haters with an agenda. "Junk Science based on emotion." Hmmm, sounds a lot like leviticus which Gore is not advocating. There must be incredible bliss in ignorance.

6. I had submitted a letter
about how there is no real debate on global warming and there are not two sides to this story. The only naysayers are on the payroll of the oil & coal industry in the US, or have some sort of connection to them.

But, no luck in getting it printed.

2. I'm worried about Al Gore too - worried that he won't run.
I have a real problem with Hillary - triangulation is so '90s. Barack is a visionary, but where's the beef? John Edwards says the right things, but my blood runs cold when I think what a poor VP campaign he ran in '04. I would love to see a Gore-Obama ticket. But Hillary looks unstoppable right now, and while she will get my vote, she won't get the effort I would put forth for Al Gore.

3. We need to answer back to these letters because they are saying
what people want to hear: you are safe because those bad scientists are wrong. It is a type of reverse fear mongering.

9. There could be a ton of money
to be made in green products and making new, more efficient products.

It's the oil & coal industries that stand to lose in the long-term, and they have connections in high places (to Bush, Cheney and Rice.)

10. Eh, if that were the case, wouldn't the oil and coal industry be busy buying up green power sources?

12. Not for them
but, there could be plenty of small to mid sized companies that do well in that line of business. Heck, some big companies could as well (GE's website last week had something about imagining a carbon neutral world...)

13. There was an internet program today regarding investing in green
and they answered this question brilliantly. I think it was on Sundance Channel - called Building for the Future.

8. Gore is the candidate right-wingers fear most
Gore has become a rock star and he's been right about everything. Plus, he has the added advantage of already having been elected once.

11. Check to see if they are Astroturf
I suspect we'll be seeing more of these letters-- the spam-style of letter.

Same letter, often word for word, sent out by the minions of evil to their legions, to create the illusion of a groundswell against or for something.

If you find them, let the Editors know that they've been duped.
