Poll question: Are you for or agin' british like video surveillance?
The video cameras are ubiquitous there now.

1. It wouldn't bother me
if surveillance equipment was smashed to smithereens on a regular basis. :)

3. I'm extremely, extremely, extremely torn on this issue. I voted
Aye because I agree that it deters crime and I don't intend to do any public lawbreaking that I don't want observed.

Mainly because I have children and the thought of being able to trace them if something happens is so comforting that I feel it's a necessary relief. I also feel a tremendous bit of obligation to help protect other's children and provide them with that same sense of security and relief.

Plus, you know the voyeur lobby will be so upset if we take them down... :freak:

4. I vote no, even though I concede that public cameras can be helpful.
Better to have video tape of a mugging or kidnapping than nothing. However, given the state of our society at present I believe that in balance surveillance can be used much more in ways that are best not explored rather than ways that can benefit. So for now, no way Jose.

6. Once I had a car accident on a bridge under camera surveillance (USA),
afterward, within a few minutes, I went to the office where bridge security was located, I wanted a copy of the incident for the insurance.

"Nope, its not available to the public" was the reply I received.
