CNN had their Dr. do a fact check piece before Moore came on. It was a cheap shot. Mr. Moore was not amused, and said that CNN had done a similar hit job on F 9-11, and that Moore's position had been validates by subsequent history whereas CNN's had not. He tooK Wolfie on about CNN's lying for war and demanded to know when they were going to apologize for having mislead the American people. Oh yeah, there was some stuff about health care, too, with Moore saying Sicko is factual. Sorry, but you've got to see it...

...it started out okay, then after 30 seconds or so it brought up some german video. I tried it twice, same thing.

Oh well -- I'll just wait for a good one on utube or c&l.

I understand why everyone here is applauding Moore, but to the people he needs to persuade (those people not on DU, or have seen SICKO or F 9/11) it probably sounded like an exasperated, angry, wandering rant.

101. I don;t think so.

For example, there was one part where I thought Moore was effective. He said that he showed the terrible conditions of Walter Reed Hosp 3 years ago and it was only until recently covered the story.

That example was persuading, IMHO.

A lot of the rest of his segment was vague.

In essence his argument was "you guys said I was full of shit several years ago when I made F 9/11, but it turns out that I was right and you were wrong about Iraq. Now you're trying to tell us I'm full of shit with regards to health care. Why should anybody believe you over me?"

For the sizable chunk of America's political center (who initially supported the war partially because of CNN's shitty "journalism", but now oppose it) this is a compelling argument.
